Here ya go, latest edition to the ever growing number of Boyz, Forgeworlds Big Mek Buzzgob. This model is a great model to paint as it it oozing with details and gives the oppertunity to add more detail like the Hazzard Stripped cables and the Radioactive Symbol on the Hydraulic tank at the top. The base I've made myself from allsorts as FW don't supply a modelled base for him.

Comments Welcome, the pictures aren't the best as I only get home from work as the daylight is fading.

the orc has incredible detail. I would imagine it took some time to get the wires and other details painted to a pro level like that. You did a splendid job with the weathering and battle damage also. Excellent work.

The skin tones take a while and i use this process on all my Orks, but its worth it.

1. Undercoat Black Spray
2. Orkhide Shade
3. For Boyz a wash of Tharakka Green. For Nobz, a wash of Tharraka Green with some Badab Black. For Boss's, a wash of Badab Black.
4. (only on Boss's) First basecoat leaving the wash in recesses, Orkhide Shade.
5. First Basecoat, 50/50 Orkhide Shade/Knarloc Green.
6. Knarloc Green (main colour).
7. First highlight, 50/50 Knarloc Green / Gretchin Green
8. Top Highlight, Gretchin Green
9. For Boyz a thined wash of Devlan Mud. For Nobz and Bosses, a wash of Devlan Mud. This final wash blends in all your colours and gives it more of a natural feel to the skin.

Its a long process, but its worth it to get the really natural skin tones. Seeing as an Ork's main feature is its skin, its important to get this right.
