That early giant really is rare, though I think is would have to be boxed to get that kind of money, they certainly can sell for a grand when they show up.

Not sure if awesome, hilarious, or just odd:

http://www.ebay.com/itm/Thomas-The-Train-Transformer-Super-Thomas-Voltron-Devastator-Tank-Engine-Gift-/271665152184

I know it's not 40k, but it made me smile.

Just got this in my inbox this morning.

I love the way it's marked as 'reduced'!

http://www.ebay.com/itm/Necron-Tomb-Blades-2012-/171639855574?ssPageName=ADME:SS:SS:US:1120

I was first thinking it's a way of saying 'out of stock' without re-listing, but they show they have 3 of them!?

Did they get that good in the new book?

I can't quite see what's going on there, or what model this might actually be!

Somewhat fitting, given the (alleged) subject here, but still...

At first I thought maybe Mr. T was trying to eBay some 40k stuff, then I re-read it as the model has a "fool you" pose to him....BC it looks like he is flipping a bird. And by "fool" he really means...well you get it.

But it also makes complete sense if read as written in a Mr. T voice.

Just a quick reminder for everyone:

 yakface wrote:

The world of miniature gaming on ebay, like anything else, has a number of bizarre and/or odd entries, from crazy-looking conversions to insane asking prices.

It is fun to have a thread that focuses on such oddities. This is a continuation from a previous dakka thread of the same topic.

However, that previous thread was locked because some of the people posting in it seemed to be forgetting some of the basic tenants of posting on Dakka, primarily that you must always remain polite.

While ebay may have plenty of auctions that feature incredibly crude conversions, blatant forgeries, terrible paint jobs, etc, if you'd like to discuss those things here on Dakka you must do so in a polite fashion, as though the users running and participating in the auctions are reading and responding in this thread (because for all you know, they might be).

So no calling people 'clowns', 'morons', etc, no matter how bizarre the auction may seem. Anyone who ignores this warning will be disciplined exactly as though they were insulting another Dakka user (because they may well be without knowing it).

I remember when I was looking for ideas for a tervigon conversion a while back and i stumbled upon this on google images. I find it amusing that the seller is still trying to sell it at the same price!

You obviously haven't seen the Tervigon conversion that is just a mound of sand with claws sticking out. For $60.
I'll try to find a pic.
