Subject: [LI] Legions Imperialis-model and terrain options
Another review. Points out that some of the actual sprue frame is sculpted into steel beams intended to reinforce surfaces made from multiple small panels.

I’ve always had an issue with Mantic’s taste level. It’s never quite “there” for me, but that’s just my own idiosyncratic likes/dislikes. I’m happy this project exists and hope it brings in lots of new Epic players.
I will probably take the $ I’d consider for this and spend it at Vanguard or Onslaught. I will say, the Aedis Clade Warden concept art looks really, really cool, and I’m excited to see what the Ver-myn faction will look like at this scale.
My two cents. Probably not worth even that much.

I'm stoked for troublemaker games having their terrain be like the official terrain for it. I think like a lot with mantic the game will probably be good, but I agree with you the models are largely not to my taste, I also think all the armies seem to have too much focus on infantry and not enough variety of vehicles, at least so far. The vehicles are sorta meh, there's a few ok ones, the walkers are decent. If I had only one complaint with the kickstarter, for ever photoshop of a stack of boxes, I'm seeing very few pics of awesome painted minis and it just seems odd they'd try and sell plastic boxed armies and not have them all photographed, I wish I could air drop the head of hawk wargames into mantic for a week
Do you play 30k? It'd be a lot cooler if you did.

That's because it's an actual crowdfund and not a misadvertised preorder, product hasn't been made yet
Most of what you see are prints of raw downscaled 28mm models, not much design has been done for 10mm yet beyond napkin sketches and certainly no sprues tooled.

i think the infantry focus of Warpath:epic, at this initial stage, is just because the other games in the setting, deadzone and firefight, have been infantry heavy both in play and lore. deadzone doesn't have room for vehicles, being small squad skirmish, and firefight only recent gained more than a handful. (none of which have shown up in the warpath game's armies yet)
since the majority of the WPepic army figures are based on those existing deadzone/firefight figure sculpts, that the initial game would be very infantry heavy isn't surprising.
lore wise, the setting's material so far has been very infantry centric as well, with much of the emphasis being on starship carried units performing smaller scale raids or limited scope operations. there hasn't been much detail given yet on mass battles, even though there clearly would be such things (and some appear in art). warpath epic is probably going to be the main route by which such lore gets added.

Designed for various scifi 6mm / 8mm scaled tabletop wargames, these bases are perfect for mounting cavalry, light vehicles, or objectives.
Not counting the many details, these bases are about 2.25mm thick.
This kit contains the following parts:
- 10x 32mm diameter round bases
- 10x 32mm diameter round bases with 4x holes of 6.10mm
- 40x 5.80mm diameter inserts for holes in the bases (texture matching the base)
- 40x 5.80mm diameter inserts for holes in the bases (matching texture + additional details bits on top)
Please do not share or sell these files (including prints and remixes) without my written permission.
Note that the final picture with the Squid Drones and Warbikes on top only shows what can be done with these bases. Squid Drones and Warbikes are not included in this kit!
Element have a bunch, as does my local plastic crack slinger. Got two to be picked up later in the week.
Next month I’ll likely pick up a big set of the buildings from somewhere.
may actually get a set of these, I've got a load of printed stuff now, and stuff from other similar scale games but a few actual bits as well may be nice

Love the work on those close combat Brutes Malika! Those would make really good proxies for Solar Veletari - they would be a bit more thematic for units accompanying World Eaters or Death Guard, something like that.
have some 28mm scale Jersey barriers from IIRC Thingiverse that scale down nicely.
Also currently doing some terrain for Battletech, while they are a bit stepped the HEXTECH hills, sculpted ones especially are pretty good and in a usable scale. useful when you don't want every bit of terrain to be a ruin

Oh those are pretty cool. I appreciate they’re hexagonal for Battletech, as that has a hex board. But they do look nicely alien for it. But also not completely daft, on account nature loves a Hexagon.
Fed up of Scalpers? But still want your Exclusives? Why not join us?
The Beta Hab Blocks are designed for 6mm / 8mm gaming, think of games such as Battletech, Adeptus Titanicus, or Epic.
This kit is basically a modular version of the previous Beta Hab Blocks I've released. It consists of the following parts:
- 4 entrance components
- 7 level components
- 7 roof components
Please do no share or sell these files (including prints and remixes) without my written permission.
Note that the final picture with the infantry on the roofs only shows how 25mm round bases can fit on the roofs. Infantry and bases not included in this kit.
The modularity is cool, I like that it opens them up to making them shorter as as well as taller. I sorta wish the balconies could hold the 25's as well but i get that that'd probably look a bit too off.
I love the idea but its a missed opportunity to not have options for when the structures are destroyed. I'm giving all structure files in context of LI the same sorta critique, structure files gotta have a wrecked version(s), it's a rules thing in terms of legions imperialis, like my option are print those and then have to make cardboard cutouts for each one or not print them, it's a big bulwark to wanting to print any structure files now.

its a pity a building goes to ground level when wreaked, can see why but its a shame, stuff like those hab blocks would be perfect for "remove the top floor and replace with a ruined one with smoke and flames"
and I like them, can I ask the dimensions of the footprint (thinking what printer they will fit onto the Mars or the Ender)

I might in the future try to do ruined versions of my buildings.
for reference having gotten these buildings they look very nice, I've got some larger stuff aimed at Titanicus, these are perfect to infill sections of just normal housing
they also look better proportioned than some of the huge ones

The Alpha Hab Block One is designed for 6mm/8mm gaming, but it could probably be upscaled for 10mm and 15mm scaled gaming as well. This makes the Alpha Hab Tower suitable for games such as Adeptus Titanicus, Dropzone Commander, or Battletech.
The kit contains both single piece as two piece (separate roof) versions of the building.
- 4 single piece Alpha Hab Block One (which each of the 4 roof types)
- 4 separate roofs
- walls put together as a single piece
The dimensions of the buildings are 62.4mm deep and 66.8mm wide. The heights vary (depending on the roof type), but the "walkable" part of the roof is 67.6mm tall.
Note that the final picture with the infantry base only shows how 25mm round based infantry look on and next to the building. Infantry and bases are not included in this kit.

Another day, and some new (modular) buildings are out! You can basically stack them up as short or tall as you want, depending on how many level components you wanna print out and cram in there.
