Basically I've had some minis knocking around for a while that I wanted to make into some sort of Genestealer cult, including most of the classic elements. The only problem I had was what list to use. Now, the Ork comparisons never made sense to me, due to the fact that using Genestealers as Kommandos effectively made them awful. So I decided the best point of action would be the Tyranid codex, and upon leafing through it all made sense. This of course means forgoing the traditional caddies, but I'm not too fussed about that. I'm gonna be adding in beastmen, brood brothers, mutants and a ton of hybrids over time

However for now I'm not worrying too much about making minis fit into roles, right now I'm just having fun with conversions since this will mainly be a modelling project!

Anyway thats quite enough chatter! I've been converting up some minis for the cult, haven't got far due to this being the result of raiding bitz boxes I had lying around. The next few weeks will be spent converting up some 4th gen stealer hybrids, cultists, mutants and brood brothers, since I'll need a hell of a lot! And eventually, I'll be buying my stealers, warriors and parts to convert up a Patriarch and my prime!

I also have a partway sculpted 2nd gen, it needs a lot of detail adding as it's just greystuff atm

Plastic Bloodletter swords, heads from WoC box set. Not sure on the head you used on the stealer.

More stealer cults. Awesome!

Chaos marauder head on brother nr 3 and 4. Necromunda starter kit right arm, Goliath, on nr 3. Nr 2 has a gorka-morka-ork body, and probably right arm with gun.

The Magus cult would work as either Zoanthropes (mathcing ruleswise what a magus with acolytes are supposed to do) or as something melee-killy to match their swords, bonesword tyranids or raveners maybe.

The Magus cult are skinnies from starship troops, with plastics from GW.

Gonna attempt some srs thread ressurection here, and bring this back to life!

I've started work on this again, due to having an excess of spare time lately, and the release of the new 'nids codex.
I have a "grunt" (counts as termagant), an infected (no jokes) Ork Nob (counts as Warrior), and a 'Stealer painted up and tons more to come. I'm aiming at converting and painting 3 models every 2 days.

A few days later and I have expanded my cult with 10 Hormagaunt conversion using the VC Ghouls, a further 10 brood brothers and another 6 genestealers and broodlord.
I've also started work on a Tervigon walking trukk conversion and my first Magus converted from the new WHFB tzeentch sorcerer, which I have pictures of now. I plan to take pictures of the rest of the stuff over the weekend when I've done a little more converting.

I now have:

Tervigon (with 20 "termagaunt" passengers)

6 Ork Nob-warriors

15 genestealers inc.broodlord

10 Hormagaunts

1 Magus counts as Zoanthrope.

All comes to about 700 points, a good start!

Thank you sir! It's mostly Stealer parts, the legs, arms and shoulder pads are all off the stealer kit. The head is a ghouls head with a milliput forehead.

As promised, have an update.

I now have 20 "Termagants" built, and have worked out a conversion for my "Hormagaunts", of which I have 10 built.
I've also acquired a finecast Broodlord, and a further 6 genestealers, meaning I can field a 15 man stealer squad.
In addition I've started painting my Magus, and sculpting a Primarch, counts as Nid Prime.

I love Genestealer and Chaos Cults it came down to the choice of the stealers or a slannesh cult and i went the later .. Looking at all this i almost wanna reconsider haha good looking stuff

Nice work! I love the Magus, and the Patriarch looks very promising. You're getting a really distinctive, creepy look to these guys. I particularly like what you've done with the ghoul heads.

Haha I love the old Hybrids, unfortunately I've not been able to get hold of any. Gonna keep trying though :')

Haha don't need to reconsider, Slaanesh is my favourite Chaos god, equally cool I'd say!

That ork nob has seriously one of the coolest heads I have ever seen. I love Genestealer Cults (and cults for that matter) and I like your unique approach at tackling this beast.

As promised, a bit later than intended, here is another update.
Nothing exciting, just working some more on the Patriarch, and working on a female Magus.

I know the shoulders of he Papa look a bit weird at the moment, but bear with me until i've sculpted in the back. Also, the claw made from Milliput needs a hell of a lot of work once I get some green stuff, which obviously is finer. I'm just hoping I can make him work out fine.

Done some more work on the Magus, who now has an enlarged forehead, and some more on the Patriarch, who is slowly making more sense.

Just a quick one. Green stuffing on the 'stealer papa has commenced!
Proper update soon, but some tips and pointers, c+c, anything that would help me out would be useful!
