Hi dakka,

i found this nice model and i love the weathering!!!!i think its pro painted an i would like to know how i can do this colour and weathering!
I would be nice if someone can help.

I haven't painted orks but I can imagine the rust is achieved with some heavy but localized stippling. It's the same technique you can use for mud on vehicles.

It appears to be done in Brown Paint. The Colour you should choose depends on what the Model Colour is.

The colour could be Bleached Bone.

The weathering looks to have been done by stippling and/or sponging as the previous posters have surmised.

As usual with painting, practice makes perfect. Try out a technique and see how you get on.

Alternatively, if you have access to an airbrush, do a search for salt weathering tutorials. Gives some amazing results, and is surprisingly easy to do.
