Good palette being used

would like to see some scatter on the base before the moss is applied, but like the way you have done the bases

I like the bases, how did you do that?

I think a wash will really help you, but choose a brown wash not black.

the moss is floral moss from the dollar store.

chibi-bodge battle, what do you mean by scatter?

It just means the loose material used for covering the base.
Static grass, sand, earth etc

You can use tea leaves for grass, or maybe dried herbs would be good as they would look like leaves.

I just thought that it would help the forest floor feel to cover the base with some vegetatitive looking scatter before using the moss. You still could quite easily apply a bit of pva to exposed parts of the base and use some scatter.

A Devlan Mud wash would really help bring out the details, but these are great as it is already, and are fine as is. Can't wait to see more.

Here's another figure. This one has sand, a rock and then the moss on the base. I also used more washes.

The washes are helping bring out the detail Lorana and the texture on the base is better imho

The one other thing I notice is that the varnish is a gloss.
It might be an idea to use a final matt/flat varnish on the cloth and maybe the skin?
The armour I feel is okay with a sheen or you could just give an overall coat. But that is down to personal preference.

Good to see the update btw please keep them coming.
Also the pics are good too

Nice!

The washes are definitely helping. The biggest area that could use them is the light skin, to give it a little more depth and definition.

I really like your bases.

I remember when my minis' eyes looked like that. Having a white circle all the way around the pupil/iris makes them look perpetually surprised. If you look at your eyes in the mirror, you'll notice that your lids actually overlap the top and bottom of the iris, so you only see white above and below it when you've got them open really wide.

I hope you don't mind, and I'm not a great painter, but someone taught me a technique years ago that I found not too hard to do and gets good results, and I like to share it with folks.

You paint the eye socket black, using a horizontal stroke, then once that dries paint a slightly narrower white stroke inside it, leaving just a little black at the top and bottom of the socket. Then paint just a little vertical black stroke right in the middle for the pupil/iris, connecting the top and bottom black sections, leaving white to either side. This gives the effect of eyelids, and I find it both looks better, and is easier than trying to center a dot on a white circle.

+1 on fixing eyes. Do that and the models will look nice on the table top. Its worth getting eyes right as this is the first area people tend to look.
