So... I started this back when Planetstrike came out and pretty much got as far as clipping sprues and acquiring the fortress second hand from a kid that used some awful putty to assemble it.

It has a long way to go before it will be paint ready, but here is the progress so far.

Some quick notes; you know what they say about best laid plans... well the first pic is my plan for the turret casings using stone-wall plasticard. The second pic, is the casing just placed on the model for reference but it turns out it doesn't actually fit and I stupidly cut all of the piece before trying one... need to buy more plasticard.

Then the door with and without magnetized heavy flamer; then the sidewall with HB turret, needs some wiring etc, you can see the hole is drilled already. Finally it's a full shot with lots of distracting crap in the middle - sorry my camera phone died though.

Very nice indeed! The brass etch work very well and give it a lot of character. I don't know if you even need to remove the arched doorways, ATM it looks like a castle from some medieval-era planet that has joined the Imperium. What colour will it be painted?

If you are looking for some more ideas to improve it, you could have a service elevator to carry up heavy equipment onto the walls.
