I think the disc BSB needs a real ward save, stat! I'd probably go full bore and take armor of destiny + shield for that 3/3+ goodness. (Endurance + charmed shield is a thought but I'd rather have the 3+ ward all the time on such an important dude. And charmed shield is so-so on a solo-ing character vs cannons, since any hit before the cannon shot drops the charm.)
If you need to find points to make this happen, you have quite a few less-than-efficient places to look: marauder champ, warshrine mark, blasted standard on warriors ...

Thanks for the critique salvage, I was thinking I could get away without one but in all fairness the armour of destiny sounds like a capital idea, I hadn't considered it in all fairness.
My idea with the BSB was as a flying small unit killer and nothing more, fly forward either kill some chaff to make his pts back, kill some warmachines then fly back for the rerolls once i've hit combat. Or that was at least the general strategy.
Based on your advice here are the changes I propose:
50 Marauders: Great Weapons, Muso, Standard, MoK: 292pts
18 Chaos Warriors: Shields, Full Command, MoT, Rapturous Standard: 358pts
18 Chaos Warriors: Shields, Full Command, MoT: 338pts
Sorcerer Lord: Level 4, MoT, Disc of Tizz, Talisman of Preservation, Spell Familiar, Enchanted Shield, Third Eye of Tizz: 410pts
Exalted Hero: BSB, Disc of Tizz, Armour of Destiny, Shield, MoT: 230pts
5 Marauder Horsemen: MoK, Flails, Muso: 111pts
5 Marauder Horsemen: MoK, Flails, Muso: 111pts
Warshrine of Tzeentch: 150pts
Points Total: 2000pts

don't. i repeat don't drop the blasted standard. against any shooty army it really is a blasted standard a 4+ ward against all shooting phase is too good to miss out on. especially with dwarf and skaven armies. i agree mauraders jockeys need bigger unit. not sure about third eye either tzeentch magic is that good you not going to want to steal magic.

Here's why I support dropping blasted standard in this list: what is it possibly doing? Except when marching the blasted warriors directly into the maw of short-ranged, immobile fire power while keeping the rest of the chaos force elsewhere, the other guy will simply shoot something else, and the list is filled with tasty targets. AND it's not like the BSB or level 4 or general or something is sitting in the blasted unit, since they've got their own rides and personal wards.

in defence of the blasted standard, yes your correct they will just shoot another unit. but. their first shot at the blasted unit will be wasted while they work out what unit is what. also with good deployment can use blasted unit to half shield other units so at least making it harder to target them, with warriors being one of the best core in the game sticking blasted unit in watchtower almost guarantee's a win. finally if they do ignore shooting this unit it will be a unit of warriors knocking on your door with little to no casualties. thats how i look at it. like you said disc characters have their own ward plus good size to hide from enemy guns.

I think I am going to have to side with Salvage on this, regarding the blasted standard, if it maybe added in a ward save in combat too then yes but with or without the chaos warriors are on a parity target wise so either will get shot at, without it, it means my anvil unit ie the ones with the rapturous standard have more of a chance of survival and will be able to centre my tactics around that unit not really going anywhere at all.
I'm still interested to see what people think of the horsemen, should i merge it into 1 unit of 10 for maximum hitting power and in the points dropped add in some warhounds.
Also Third Eye or Conjoined Horumculous?? would the ability to guarentee gateway be a better trade off than ability to steal spells like purple sun and dwellers??

I would take 3rd eye without looking back. You can steal spells and the only drawback is you can't cast any of your own spells. For 25pts thats an excellent choice.
With Conjoined, iirc, you get to add d3 to your casting attempt, but also suffer from Stupidity on your next turn. The chance to fail your ld test and get stranded out in the open isn't worth it. To put it simply, if it can go wrong it will go wrong. If it can't possibly ever go wrong, it will go wrong twice. It would be better for you to drop the Spell Familiar and take the Power Familiar. Your sorc will be much more reliable that way.
