The idea for this list is to have the blobs hold objectives or mix it up with melee, if need be. The 1st vet squad, and the two PCS are on anti vehicle duty, as is the Manticore and Vanquisher. The HQ, ratlings, and 2nd vet squad are on anti infantry detail, as are the battle cannons and Manticore.

Blobs field close to objectives, doubling as bubble wrap for Manitcore. Flyers deep strike into needed locations to take out threats.

Possible changes would be to remove the ratling squad, and free up some other points make the CCS a melee squad (Med kit, PW, grenade launchers). I welcome and value your opinions, oh Dakkaites.

CCS is illegal becuase HW takes up 2 vets so you cant have 3 special weapons. Really I think I think 4 melta guns would be a better loadout for them. Not really a fan of ratlings. 4 of them look like they wont do much. Points from them could give blobs meltas or something. Static vet squads are kinda wasteful of their superior weapon selection and you have plenty of anti infantry from russes and manticore. Vanquisher is taking up space. If you want anti tank, another vendetta could fill that role

You have a fair amount of sniper rifles. Do you face a bunch of big bug tyranids where you play? I would take out the ratlings and add meltabombs for your hth blob squad (better chance against dreads and such). I am not so sure about the vanquisher. a bastion breacher medusa would work quite well and the scatter can still put some hurt on vehicles. Other than that I have not tried so many sniper rifles. Maybe that works ok where you play.

My options for a hundred Points:
Trio of sentinels?
Perhaps two Ministorum priests as support for the Blobs?
Al'Rahim for a flanking platoon?
Another footslogging command squad?
Psyker battle squad?
Two squads of meat shields?
Pull the Medusa and make it a 1750 list?

I'd pull the plasma sponsons on the russ. They're like 30 points right? Also drop extra armor. Really not worth it.

That gives more points to play with. You coukd take a third detta, but i'd take two more chimeras for the vets. I have vets in a detta sometimes, but only when I have 4 other vets in chimeras. Vendettas seem more mobile, but they're really not if you want maximum fire power. Dettas are great fire platforms when they make a 6" move. Chimera's can fast move turn 1 and pop smoke, while dettas are popping enemy tanks. Vendettas also draw alot more fire than chimeras. They're often dead turn 1 or 2. If you use them as a fire platform then you're stuck with vets on the ground before they reach a target. If you use them as a transport you never get to fire all the lascannons.

I like the additions of vendettas, hydras, or armored sentinels with autocannons. I too would drop the sponsons from the russ.

I lost both times to Blood Angels because apparently 4 power weapons per squad isn't enough to take out assault units.

Not a big fan of blobs. Frankly, you take away the guard's biggest strength - heavy weapons. Why let BA assault you when you could plasma or autocannon or lascannon them to oblivion? Plus if you are in CC, your tanks have nothing to shoot at. LRBT kill dang near anything outright. 12 str 3 attacks vs Death Guard? Why not shoot them?
