If you want a greyish purple look you can do iteasily with a few washes. Just paint the model with a base coat of a light cream colour (dheneb stone, kommando khaki, doesn't really matter). Then give them a heavy wash with a purple wash, I made my own from watered down warlock purple.

Once this has dried give it a heavy wash with badab black. At this stage the colours will be right but the overall effect won't look great.

Finally highlight all the raised areas with rotting flesh. The more you highlight the paler the skin will look. This stage adds a nice green tinge.

Finally just pick out any details

I'll try and find some photos of the end result to put up.

thank you, 4M2A, but ive forgot to explain my way of painting nurgles.
1. white basecoat
2. bubonic brown main color
3. than i aplly thekka green and gryphonne sepia washes.
So armor of my CSM is little green, little brown and im looking for some bloody look of skin.
Ive tried to paint in this way: Elf flesh, levi purple wash and then Brown Indian ink (for bloody gloss). But it look... hm... unnatural i think. Yes- its bright and 'juicy' but it dont look like skin.
In your adwise, im afraid, colors will be merged on mini.

But how to paint it greysh or... hm... red...
Its still hard to me

I use rotting flesh or palid flesh (which you can't buy any more but use vallejo pale flesh from the game colour range).
Use very thin washes and don't always cover all the flesh - eg use reds arround pustules, purple arround the eyes, etc.
Feather out the damp edges of the wash and don't use a wash just once - many thin layers is the key.

mr Bubber: as i can see, you use rotting as basecoat and then you wash it with red, orange and purple paints/washes?
Is it correct to mix wash with water for thinner layer?

I like to use Gretchin green for Nurglish skin, then add Bleached bone to it for highlights. After that, perhaps Gryphonne sepia or devlan mud.

yeah, it really depends on what kind of rotten flesh you're going for. Pussy will have more white, while infected will be more red.

For my own decapitated head on a strap I painted it codex grey with highlights of rotting flesh (that pastel green color GW makes), with a little bit of bleached bone highlighting that, with some brown put pack in to simulate blood and bruising:

Oh, lol. No, I wasn't talking about infected pussy, I was referring to infection, or pus-ey.

It was palid flesh for the base colour but the rest is correct.
I actually used oils for some of the washes but normal GW washes work too.

Gathering the Informations.

Easiest way to make rotting/decaying flesh?

A 25/75 mix of Dheneb Stone and Codex Grey.

From there, you just want to use heavily watered down washes(specifically Purple and Blues) to really add to how the flesh looks.
