This year I am kicking around the idea of running my Vanilla Marines as SW for Ard Boyz. I have tons of models so any and all suggestions are welcome.

HQ:
Rune Priest Bolter LL JotWW
Rune Priest LL Tempest
Rune Priest MB LL Storm Caller
Rune Priest SB LL Murderous Hurricane

Troops:
7 Grey Hunters MG MotW PW Wolf Standard Rhino
7 Grey Hunters MG MotW PW Wolf Standard Rhino
7 Grey Hunters MG MotW PW Wolf Standard Rhino
5 Blood Claws Flamer
5 Blood Claws Flamer
5 Blood Claws Flamer

Elite:
Wolf Guard 1
2 PA PF
1 PA 2xWC
Wolf Guard 2
TDA TH/SS
TDA 2x WC
TDA PF/SS
TDA WC/SS
TDA FB/SS
LRC Dedicated Transport EA MM

Heavy Support:
Long Fangs 5xML Razorback TL PG/LC
Long Fangs 5xML Razorback TL PG/LC
Long Fangs 3xML 2x HB Razorback TL PG/LC

The general idea is the 3 BC squads can go with 3 Run Priests and throw out LL. The LF's task is pretty obvious. The GH rhinos each get a WG in PA and one gets the RP with LL JotWW, they advance up the board with the LRC and WGT. The Razorbacks will add more fire support whilst providing the BCs and Rune Priests with rides and mobile cover. The reason I took BC with flamer over GH with flamer is because they will be camping an objective in at least 2 of the missions with the RP in support. With the RP in the squad they will benefit from his Ld and if my opponent tries to assault them off the objective they will get one more attack whilst counter charging compared to the GH. Any comments/criticism?

Looks very brutal. You have a good amount of Long Range firepower and some good CC punch. I am glad you took more than 5 GH per squad and put them in Rhinos rather than RBs. A lot of the SW net lists have MSUs with RBs but they MSU is just so fragile. Mixing it up mid sized squads in Rhinos and MSUs in RBs is a fairly decent strategy. I personally like WGT but beware that the lone LRC is going to be the focus of all your opponents deep striking Meltas and turn one lance fire. Use the Rhinos and RBs to bubble wrap the LRC and don't forget to pop smoke.

I'm not sure I understand why the Blood Claws are there. They are absolutely useless on foot, and not much better unless they are taken in a Land Raider Crusader at full strength. You would do much better putting the Rune Priests in the Rhinos with the larger packs.

Combine those packs into another 7 man pack in a Rhino for the 4th Rune Priest to join.

Aldarionn I would normally, as you know, agree with you about the BCs being in a LRC w/ Wolf Priest. But I think I can see where he is going with this. He wants the BCs as cheap objective holders that can also provide the RP with ablative wounds. Also I think he wants to keep the RPs out of the Rhinos for the most part and use them along side but not with the LFs as long range firepower which is why they are couched in with the BC not the LF. Is it the best use of the BCs? Probably not but the strategy has merit.

On a side note, you may want to consider running TWC or Swiftclaws (bikers) as your death star as opposed to the WGT. I really like WGT a lot but the added speed of the TWC or Swiftclaws will allow you to get in and eat what came out of the transports your RP and LF popped a lot sooner. Just some food for thought.
