A while ago I thought of a really funny idea! Taking your 40k Model Ork Trukks, Tau or Space Marine or whatever you use for tanks and stuff. And making them remote controlled with maybe like finding some kinda way to make some of those parts move around a lot more.
Not only would would it add a lot of life to your model if you had like some kinda self moving parts like a tiny device that can if you modeled it right. Open the doors automatically and stuff or have it so that an ork vehicle door is flapping open and shut cuz its not on right.
Does anyone know how to go about this and do that sorta thing?
Its gotta be expensive to do and time consuming I know but I know its gotta be possible....somehow.
have you seen the ipod baneblade? make 'em go at about 2" a second- moving, ramming and tank shocking would be a lot funner.
my favorite RCLR is this one:

It can be done but its not cheap. You need micro or sub micro radio equipment and thats not cheap. If you want moterised tracks then you need to make new tracks and a drive system and thats hard. I suspect alot of people just have a set of wheels sticking out the bottom.
Motors are the least of your worries, scaletric motors would work.
Drive unit (tracks) and the forward turret servo came from a r/c bulldozer. Tracks were a close match.
He would have needed micro servos to make the sponsons elevate/traverse though (at the time, no cheaper than $600AUD a pair - cheaper now but still not 'cheap').
I'm OVER 50 (and so far over everyone's BS, too).
Old enough to know better, young enough to not give a ****.
That is not dead which can eternal lie ...
... and yet, with strange aeons, even death may die.
hmm some of those are nice but I am pretty sure they are made out of something not the plastic kits. I would think to make the trukk I want out of the kit, Than behind the wheels underneath mount it onto a platform that makes it move and just scult the wheels so that they turn when it moves.
EDIT
WAIT!
WHAT ABOUT AN ACTUAL WALKING RC DEFF DREAD OR KILLA KAN?! Just replace hip and leg joints with the moving parts and its hollow inside so you can easily hide the mechanics inside of it.
That would be kinda cool! One Remote could control all three in one squad or have separate ones for each one.

How about use a eurostore vehicle with pull-back motor as an alternative. Here's my 3 euro tractor conversion as mek junka, or battlewagon, or trukk. My three year old loves it!

Good luck with that idea. You clearly have no idea just how horrendously complicated and expensive waling robots are. Try a quick google, you will see what i mean.
