Hi. I havn't played a lot of fantasy(mostly 40k) but i think the DEs are really cool.
I tried to keep it simple and i might combine the xbow units. Do i need a dispel scroll? Should i try fit a BSB in there? Is the knight unit too big? Are harpies any good? I dont own any models, yet.

I like it. Though you might be shaky with Leadership tests without a BSB its understandable if you don't want to squeeze one in at this level. Definitely worth investing in one in any higher value fights though. The Repeater Crossbowmen have always been a pain fighting against so you should get good mileage out of them. Letting them wither down your enemies forces before your spearmen get stuck in. The only thing I'd change with the Xbows is to give each a standard bearer. Its good to have standards as one battle you will auto lose if you have none. The Cold one knights should pack a nice punch. Though at such a cost at a low level I would probably be using them at higher point battles and use those points on a bolt thrower and a cheaply kitted BSB. And use any leftover points on more spears and crossbowmen. The harpies should be good for hunting warmachines and the odd chance to flank charge your enemies.

At 1000 points a 10 man CoK deathstar is unnecessary (I'm not a fan of large CoK units).

Are you only considering lore of Metal? You may also want to look at Lore of Shadow.

Well, i figured metal would be useful against heavy infantery, which spearelves and xbows might struggle taking on. I have actually never used any magic before as the only other army i have played with before is dwarves. xD
