I'm all shiny & new when it comes to WFB, having only played 40k previously... Thought I'd give fantasy a go, and decided on Empire since I really like the look and feel of them...

I've bought the Battalion, equipped thusly -

State troops - sword & shield
Kerniggits - lance & shield
Shooty state troops - handgunners
Greatswords - er, great swords...

I've also invested in a Warrior Priest while the points are still low, but was wondering how people would build on this up to around 2k pts... Am thinking of expanding the swordsmen and adding some halberdiers/spears, maybe more cavalry, plus some artillery and magic...

Your words of wisdom would be appreciated...

You'll need a lot of bodies thats for sure. I would at least have x2 units of 30 swords/halberds with x10 missile detachment and x15 melee detachment. Knights I would say x6 a unit and play a support role for your big blocks. x25-30 greatswords with a priest and possibly detachments is quite a hardy unit. x2 Cannons and a mortar could fill the rest of the specials. Lvl 4 wizard and a BSB are probably good lord/hero choices other than the priest. Maybe a rocket battery

Thanks for the advice... That's a lot of bodies for sure!! The army organisation is taking some getting used to compared with the 40k org chart i'm used to...
