I like list #2 but without the Lesser Daemons, it would let you fit another combi-melta on that last rhino as well as have another combi-melta terminator!
Good Luck!

Good trades: 8!!

Well, I'd opt for the 2nd list with Termies and CSM units.
I'd keep the CSM units in Rhinos as long as possible.
If so, you don't need cult Marines.

Yeah, I'd have opted for the second list. Let us know which one you picked

It was a tight race.

List 3 got my teammate Alex Fennel's vote. I may be running that one at the ETC-style team event at Templecon.

Lists 1 & 2 are the most "me". List 1 for lots of scoring units, including two units of LDs. List 2 has a few LDs, plus my CSMs (I've historically made it a point of pride not to rely on cult marines) plus a unit to hit the backfield. List 2 also probably has the edge in appearance scoring, as my Terminators are my best-painted unit. Actually, overall List 2 is probably my favorite.

That said, I finally chickened out and went for list 1, as I've just seen too many damn PBS squads out there in 2010. I tweaked it a little, though. Dropped the 4th ML from the Havocs, and two LDs from the larger squad, to buy two more Plague Marines so it's two squads of 8. So I've got a little more beef there.

For the first one, looks good. I like my havocs with lascannons, but MLs are good too

Missile Launcher havocs are already expensive enough, for my blood. They're only really worth it because a) I can summon off them, and b) Lash makes Frags able to hit 12+ models on a direct Hit. Lascannons are just cost prohibitive, and don't combo with Lash.

In fact, in case of PBS squad, lists 1 or 3 are more favorable.
But you don't need that many scoring units (list 1).

Outcome:

Naturally, since I went Fearless, I faced no IG so no PBS.

R1: Space Wolves run by a fairly new player. My dice were absolute crap, but I had better position for the scenario and still got the win despite all my cult troops getting butchered. 22/24 win.
R2: Very strong Tyranids run by GT fixture and member of Da Boyz Jay Woodcock. Was looking at a tight win or draw but got caught out on a change to the 5th ed fallback rules which allowed him to move a Synapse into range to save a Genestealer unit and get it back in the fight, preventing me from rolling his flank. 5/24pt loss.
R3: Very tight and gorgeous Tau in Spearhead Annihiliation, on an open table, run by Old Shatterhands. He made one significant error, giving me the opening I needed to roll up his flank. 24/24 win.
R4: Unusual / kind of 3rd-ed-y BA featuring several Tac squads and multiple Devastator units, run by a fairly casual player. Despite absolutely absurd dice (fists inflicted 2 wounds out of ~20-25 attacks, opponent hit ~70% with his, missed 2 heavy weapon shots all game and never failed to wound), I still had it won until T5, then dropped to a Draw on T6. 10/24.
R5: Excellent Biker SM army with 3x Rifleman, 3x Typhoon support, played by solid player. Early turns went well, I had overrun his home objective while holding off his flanking squads, but he pulled a clever assault to pull me off the third objective with a Dread, turbo'd his bikes to grab my objective on the bottom of 5, and the game ended. 12/24.

5 scoring units were nice, but as it was I felt like I overpaid for all the cult units, and really felt the lack of a backfield threat (terminators or chosen). Against the Tau the Chosen could have made a big difference, preventing him from castling so easily and giving me an opening without him having to make a mistake. I have a significantly different list in mind for next month's tournament at Battlegrounds in MA...
