Hey guys. I'm doing some Dire Avengers, but I try to come up with original paint schemes when possible. Which presents a problem with Aspect warriors, who according to fluff all look the same. Oh well.

Now, I've heard some opinions that the color scheme on my guardians is great and that I should just do the same thing with my Dire Avengers. But DAs look so similar to guardians from a gameplay perspective and I would like for them to stand out on the board. So I was goofing off for a couple of days and, while not finished, the below DA pic is the result. I'm not sure if I should keep this one and if so where to develop more color or accent on it, or if I should just paint all of the bleached bone parts green and make them look just like the guardians. Any tips? Advice?

Personally, I would have painted them the standard color...but would have done some more..."unique" kind of warpaint on the helms.

Yeah, I have a hard time not including them in the same uniform as the guardians since they virtually are just regular shooter infantry. I'm working on changing this whole scheme up a tad, though. And it doesn't look nearly as bland once I got some accents on there and the helmet decal.

rainbow dashing to your side

it looks nice but a wash of sepia on the bone plates and asuman blue on the armour would make it look much better

I've got devlan mud (GW brown wash) and sepia (Vallejo brown wash)... plust I got Vallejo's wash set on the way by mail. I didn't know if washing the bone would be a good idea by making it look a little TOO organic, but the worst that could happen is that I hate how it's looking and chuck it in some simple green.

I think I am going to re-paint the weapon, however, like the guns on my guardian weapons platform: mottled dark angels green and yellow on the "barrel".

I think they look good. You can create very good washes just by adding water to your paints. I would suggest using a dark red wash on the dire avenger crests.

Also I think you should redo the dire avenger guns. I'm just not feeling the metallic color you used.

I really like your guardians though. They look nice.
