Dwarfs are awesome, and in 8th edition they are also really deadly( they also look really cool in purple and brass). This list is basically a lot of eggs in a single basket, have the warriors march asap to face the enemy and because of oathstone i dont have to bother bout flanks! The warmachines take care of things the warriors dont wang to face while the miners just mess around. Thunderers and quallerrers take a flank each, these guys are not to be underestimated in CC( which i hope the enemy does). Simple and hopefully effective. Any thoughts? Here goes:

Thane w/ GW, master rune of gromil, oath stone (114)

24 Warriors w/ GWs, FC (265)

10 Thunderers w/ shields (150)

10 Quallerrers w/ GWs (130)

10 Miners (110)

Dwarf Cannon w/ rune of forging (125)

Grudge Thrower w/ rune of penetrating (105)

Looks like it should be fine. I am not sold on miners though. I like the model and the fluff, just not convinced how to use them. While 110 points isn't that expensive, it could still matter at 1k.

That is what I was thinking of, but you would have to come up with some more points though. Actually, you have to get rid of some of your points in special choices anyway, you are over 250 points.

Well, that thought hit me too. But actually its up to 50% with special choices! So its still wiable.
Would a organ gun addition make this list cheezy?

It would certainly make it shooting heavy, hard to say whether it'd be cheesy. If you wanted to make that change, I'd drop the champ from your warriors to get the extra 10.

I would agree that whilst I like miners at this level of points an organ gun would likely see more mileage for its points at this level. They are great for guarding a flank of your force. The thing is you always have a chance of your war machines blowing up. Plus you'll more often than not be outnumbered in close combat. So I wouldn't call that list with an organ gun cheesy.

After some thinking and some dicerolling i figured an organ gun is a must. I also think i would bemefit from more CC(mainly because i dont want to make it too shooty). New list:

Thane w/ GW, MRO mithril, oath stone (114)

25 Warriors w/ GWs, FC (275)

24 Warriors w/ GWs, baner, musician (255)

Cannon w/ RO forging, RO burning (130)

Grudge Thrower w/ RO penetrating (105)

Organ Gun (120)

Total: 999pts

Nice list. pretty similar to my 1000 point list. Though I have one block as GW and other as shields. And a BSB thane with rerollable save and a GW runesmith ( Ive had a wizard to play against in nearly every game I've played).

Looks like a good combination of choppiness and shooting. Have fun and best of luck.

Didnt think i'd need a runesmith on this points level. Drwarfs already has a 2+ bonus and the oath stone provides magic resistance 1. Well, i'm just gonna have to play a few games and see how it goes. Thx for comments!

Very true as your unit with the oathstone will get that magic resistance into the bargain. Plus you can place the stone and not have ranks negated from flank charges. Should be a hard unit to shift. Whats the 2 plus bonus sorry? I thought the only bonus dwarfs got against magic is extra dispel dice from runesmiths/lords? Unless your talking about runes of course.

Dwarfs add +2 to any dispel attempt they make, unless they're in an alliance with other races. I might be wrong but I think it's 2+ dispel dices with a runelord/smith.

Yeah, dwarfs are better then ever now as runesmiths generate a dice for sure, while other wizardz need 6s! Awesome
