Hi all. I've still got little experience with 8th edition, having only played a few games since 5th edition. I'm thinking about just jumping feet first and playing in a couple of tournaments in February. I've been getting and painting as quickly as I can to get ready, but my hardest part has been army list making. Here's what I've got so far, please give me any advice you can on what you'd do differently. The only requirements are:

1. I want to keep the plague priest/furnace/monks/catapult.

2. I'd like to keep the wind mortars, as they feel a bit more Pestilens-y than flamethrowers.

3. Any changes have to work within the models I have/am picking up. I'll list these at the bottom.


Lords
Warlord with Weeping Blade, Warpstone Armor, Dawnstone

Chieftain BSB with Charmed Shield and hand weapon

Plague Priest level 2 with Plague Furnace and Dispel Scroll

Warlock Engineer level 1 with Doomrocket and Warp Energy Condenser

45 Clanrats with full command, spears and shields and attached Poisoned Wind Mortar (Warlord and BSB go in this unit)

Now, reason behind shields and spears on clanrats, and shields on slaves, all my clanrats and slaves are coming from the Island of Blood sets. I'm using the ones with spears as clanrats, ones with hand weapons as slaves. One of the tournaments is enforcing the WYSIWYG rule, so I can't just say 'the spear ones are slaves with just hand weapons, ignore the shields'.

I've got 3 casters, but will likely be swapping out both Engineers' spells for Warp Lightning unless I get Scorch, maybe Death Frenzy, but will depend on what I face. Pretty much anything the Priest gets will be helpful.

The Dispel Scroll and Feedback Scroll are for magic defense, same with having 3 casters, hoping to channel extra dice.

I do like the idea of having a nice horde, this almost fits, part of me wants more rats on the table.

I would try to take the storm banner somewhere in there.

You have a decent number of anvils in there which should see your list do well if you play it right. I think a doomwheel or a WLC will be very nice and needed. How else can you kill monsters?

Good point on the monsters, I have nothing really to beat them with except possible spells. Don't have a warp lightning cannon, could use the doomwheel, but I'll have to think about that.

The storm banner, I may be able to drop some things to make points for and give it to the BSB.
