The first squad in a 1500 point army I am painting for a tournament at the end of January. Will update after each squad is done.

Updated with new pictures. I got delayed because I decided I liked a lighter look after painting a test model using codex grey. So I am repainting all the Thunder Wolf riders Lord and regular guy are done already.

I could do that and see if I like it more. They are all pinned on at the waist so they can lean forward. back and pivot left or right.

Also Mr. Dandy is awesome, really happy with the wolves, and they are very reasonably priced when compared other conversions.

They look good! Yeah, the Mr. Dandy wolves are quite nice.

I agree that the poses will look more natural if you have the marines bent forward at the waist so as to have their upper bodies and heads perpendicular to the ground, or even leaning slightly forward. With them leaning back it looks like they've been caught off balance, not coordinated with the mount as it moves forward. You could maybe model one guy like that and have it be a little amusing moment, but it really doesn't look right for a bunch of guys to be like that.

Are you using the Macro setting on your camera? It would also help you get better/clearer photoes if you put a white piece of paper under the model, and optionally one behind it, and bounced the light from a nearby desk lamp off a third piece of paper, held or mounted close to the model

The wolves look stunning in every regard, well done. I feel like the pose on the Wolf Lord is alright because his wolf is rearing and is flat footed. The other ones could use an adjustment. Otherwise fabulous work.

Thank you sir. BTW the bases are not done I only have gravel since we ran out of snow at the shop, and haven't got anymore in yet. After the snow is down I will drop some grass on the base too, so it will have a tundra look to it. Ferisian wolves should be up tomorrow, the test one is up with the Thunder Wolf Cavalry unit. They aren't anything to special, and quick to paint.

Any way you could post up a tutorial on how you painted the TWC? I just bought those same models and am very interested in painting them white.

Be glad to right here for you.

Primed with P3 black primer. Base coated with Khemri Brown GW foundation paint. While the Foundation paint is still wet I strip brushed on GW bleach bone, when I strip brush I use a wet brush, dip it in the bleach bone then brush it back and forth on a palette to remove most of the excess. So basically like a heavy dry brushing with a wet brush though. When doing this while the base coat is still wet they mix together. Just be sure not to go all the way into the recesses so some khemri brown still shows. Repeat the last step exactly the same with GW skull white, leaving some bleach bone showing. Let dry then I used army painter strong tone over the whole model. (Great for washing and protecting your models.) Let dry then used Testors Dul-Cote. Let dry then dry brushed on skull white. Finally I sprayed again with Testors Dul-Cote so the skull white dry brushing doesn't rub off.

Thank you. Mr. Dandy sculpts some wonderful things. If you like Tyranids as well he sculpts some great spore pods.

Yea they are Wargs. Not the greatest models in the world, but they work perfectly. And here are the repainted Thunder Wolf Cavalry, and now my Camera is way to bright the hair isn't as red as it seems.
