Hey all,

This is a blog to encompass my ever-expanding Chaos Space Marine force - currently have 2000+pts worth - which has a particularly Khornate theme but is likely to branch off into some other Legions, such as Iron Warriors.

I'll start with some of my finished models, then show the current WiP's.

I only consider the finished models to be table-top standard,
but all feedback and suggestions are appreciated.

I'm really lacking inspiration for the Khornelord/Superheavy in particular, so any suggestions for him would be excellent!

You could always add more spikes. Always good for Khorne.

Well tonight was a slow one ... inspiration flowed in from nowhere!!

So how does one rectify this? The trick is to stick Crufts on the tv and get on with some minor modelling

As far as painting is concerned no progress has been made in any department, however i feel a paintfest approaching soon and if im honest i need to get some models onto the completed pile.

In the waiting list at the moment is : 1 Khornelord/baneblade, 1 khorneraven, 1 converted venerable dreadnought, a demon prince , a squad of CSM, a squad of beserkers, a half finished rhino and several projects that have viable direction or end point ....

@ Swordwind spikes you say ... my immediate thought is converting the superheavy into a giant red hedgehog ....

Anyways progress for now is as follows:

Mr Stabby now has 2 arms and 2 heads ?!?

Need to tidy them both up fairly heavily, and obviously finish modelling them.

Mr toasty will be getting a gout of flame and my first ever attempt at OSL ....

As for other projects the dreadnought which has been half constructed for the best part of a year now is looking like so ..



And my only inspiration of the evening was thinking up giving him a loin cloth of chains with different loyalist chapter heads suspended on ... thoughts ??

Im now beginning to regret the period of buying everything i could and painting nowt, and the baneblade/stormlord edges ever closer to the bin in an attempt to stop it driving me mad.

The weekend will be slow progress wise due to wanting to spend some time with my partner and been away from home but hopefully it will give me a new lease of life to go at this lot hammer and tongs ....

Just love that Stormlord. Have you considered doing some very careful edge highlights on the black and red to bring up some of the detail?

Nice stuff! My first thought on the Khornelord is to fill the back "open" section with a swimming pool of blood and skulls.

Could just cram the back of it with more Khorne Bezerkers? Potentially hanging off the sides etc?
Or even, 2 birds with one stone: put the Dreadnought on the back (Stormlords can transport them) and give him one of the Stormlords usual weapons (e.g. Twin-linked Heavy Bolter, Havoc Launcher etc.); a use for the Dread and spices up the Stormlord. Not sure on this idea though...

Destroy the aquilas...

Turn it into a Combine Harvester... Give it a massive threshing blade weapon at the front, for harvesting blood...

That superheavy looks awesome!!! Please do some more to it!

Mr toasty looks cool, I like the character types. I also feel your pain about buying too much...it can become overload. Best advice is to stop assembling stuff and just buckle down and paint! Maybe shelf the expensive forge world models for a time when you can really devote lots of time and energy into them, as they're complex models to paint and do justice to...as I'm sure you're finding.

Your Terminator Lord reminds me of my first ever conversion way back in the early 90's. I cut the head off the old school metal Lightning claw termi and stuck a Heroquest skeleton's skull on it. I loved that model and yours has just brought back some awesome memories.

I really like the pose you have achieved on Mr Stabby as well great sense of movement.

Righto im back after a weekend of doing essential non war-gaming stuff's.

And due to a late finish at work haven't been able to do much today except prepare for the paint + modelling fest that is to ensue ..

@ Gitsplitta - That is a very good idea and one that i shall try to put into practice, and tbh i think the paint needs some work anyhoo so is good to get another opinion especially from one of such caliber as yourself

@ Vyler - That's one idea that had crossed my mind recently, i just dont want to leave a large effectively blank space of one color on the model, Ive gone through several ideas for that area such as a shrine to khorne being showered in blood and an executioners block ect but none have taken my fancy so far ...

@ JustDave - Just not gonna happen im afraid but nice effort

@ MeanGreenStompa - Aquilas are in the process of been removed, and you sir are so close to one of the original ideas i had for this monstrosity, and are not far off what im now planning to do with it ........

@ Vitruvian XVII - Thanks v much, and its on the work table at the mo and in the firing line.

@ Cave_Dweller - Im glad somone understands how much it can overwhelm you without realising and de-motivate you an astonishing amount, however after much nagging from my baby bro and yourself aswell, i am shelving all models and dealing with them 1 at a time, however i have decided that the stormlord need to be removed from the equation so is first in line for work.

@ Biohazard - Great minds and all that hey! But skulls on termies just seem to work so well it has to be done, and thanks i do like mr stabby but sadly hes in storage for the near future.

To be honest im suprised anyone is interested in my lil evil men, and least of all did i expect compliments on them as ive only ever considered them to be very much in the amateur/average category and at the very best tabletop ... but then again i am my harshest critic

But to all you lovely chaps/chapettes Thankyou for your kind words.

As you may have guessed ive decided to shelve projects for the mo and concentrate on individual models in turn, and as it seems to be a favorite amongst you lot the Stormlords in at number 1 and first for work.

However thanks to finishing work late and needing to prepare im not strating it tonight.

Instead i shall share with you the true nature of chaos ....

Dreadnought?

Really nice stuff sir. I'm liking the bleeding eyes on the helmetless marines. It's done nicely so it's not OTT.

The chains on the Stormraven and the guy riding on the external turret really make it feel chaosy.

The Khornelord needs more skulls. Skulls everywhere!

Right a small update for the moment

Making slow progress to the Stormlord, and planning some fairly major restructuring to it ....

So basically what im planning is to have a dozer style blade on the front of it which is what Ive been trying to construct and sort out a suitable design for this week.

I have two potentials so far ..



This is the first and original design i came up with, but if im honest i don't particularly like it very much



And this is the second style if got so far and requires a bit more work to get the full idea but i prefer it i think and will be sticking to this one.

So the plan is with an early finish at work today and tomorrow off undisturbed, is to get a fair bit of progress in ... well thats the theory off it.

The Idea behind the dozer blade is that the finished design will have a series of circular saw blades mounted on/in it, for juicing those pesky followers of the corpse god...

On i side note i was in my flgs the other day to obtain some prezzies for my baby bro and the urge to buy yet more stuff and another superheavy almost overwhelmed me, i must really get this lot finished so i can get some iron warriors going as i have a real itch i need to scratch with them ... or maybe thats nurgles influence calling ?

Second one is much better. Make sure to include lots of holes and dents from behind to indicate where the tanks weapons have fired through the dozer blade in futile attempts to hit what's in front of it!

Really cool stuffs here, I really like the little conversions you did all over your army! The chains are a great, khorny touch!

The dozer blades..... I really like the second one! If you chose to use it, make sure to put on A LOT of dents and scratches, and of course, spikes!

A small update on progress ..

Thus far Dozer blade looks as such



Had to rebuild the entire thing as the previous one went a bit wahoony shaped, but its not too bad as im much happier with this.

Still lots to do to it as yet am plotting some reverse crenelations at the base of the blade and all that free space above the saw blades is just crying out for some loyalists on chains ... in bits! Then it will be a case of rivets, more cladding of sorts, making a decent looking mounting system, battle damage, spikes, skulls and of course BLOOD!! Aswell as more intimate but none the less important detailing.

Im also pulling apart the standard engine/exhaust system on the back, as to me it looks rather weedy for a machine of this size and so am going to rebuild it in a much more beefy fashion.

Love the saw blades idea! A very neat chaotical approach to the dozer blade
