Here's my second try at Bretts. I'm trying to go for a certain feel and all, but I want to be as competitive as possible within those limits. What do you think?

1 Brettonian Lord (Grail Vow, lance, shield, barded Brettonian warhorse, Virtue of Heroism, Morning Star of Fracasse, Gromil Great Helm, Potion of Foolhardiness) 268
1 Prophetess of the Lady (Brettonian warhorse, Dispel Scroll) 230

1 Paladin (Grail Vow, battle standard, barded Brettonian warhorse, Virtue of Confidence, Gauntlet of the Duel, Warrior Bane, Charmed Shield) 140
1 Paladin (Grail Vow, lance, shield, barded Brettonian warhorse, Virtue of the Jouste, Mane of the Purebred) 151
1 Damsel of the Lady (Brettonian warhorse, Silver Mirror) 120

11 Knights Errant (full command, Errantry Banner) 261
8 Knights of the Realm (full command) 226
7 Knights of the Realm (full command, Twilight Banner) 217
8 Grail Knights (full command, Ranger's Standard) 384

The Lord goes with the 8 Knights of the Realm. The BSB and the Damsel go with the 7. The Prophetess goes with the Grail Knights, and the other Paladin goes with the Knights Errant. I'm trying to spread out my points so no one target is significantly more tempting than the others, while still making each a viable threat.
Is this viable? Four units makes me nervous, but that may just be my inner rat-man talking.

You need one or two big blocks of men at arms to deny steadfast.

Also if you want to build a virtue of heroism lord here is my opinion on that

Lord
Virtue of Heroism
Sword of Strife
tress of Isoulde
Royal Peggy

Most monsters are fast, they either fly or have something like an 8 inch move. It helps when your lord on peggy can easily catch them for the charge.

The rest of the build gives him 6 attacks that hit on 2's, statistically 5 of those will hit, which means that one should roll the 6 for KB...

This is the only way I will personally run a heroism lord, 4 attacks needing 3's then 6's is just to low imo.

Also If you refuse to run Men at Arms then run a treb or two to thin ranks so your knights arent hitting steadfast blocks.

I considered Men-At-Arms, but I'd either have to drop some characters (which is possible) or double-up on characters/unit, which I really don't want to do more than I already have.

That build is solid, and he's certainly good at what he does. If I wanted a character sorely for monster-mashing, I'd do it. As it stands, I figured I'd try to make him more of a generalist. The killing blow works against everyone, after all, and I'm content to take an extra round of combat to kill the dragon, even if it costs me a few knights.

If I dropped the Knights Errant and the Paladin, I could get two units of 40ish Men-At-Arms, though...do you think that's doable?

The problem with that is that the lord wont survive one or two rounds against the dragon, its a kill it or you will die scenario.

Another fun build for the lord

Virtue of confidence
Guantlet of the duel
Star of fracasse
Armor of Arglif (the WS 10 one)

Challenges that cant be refused that destroy magic weapons.

As yo the Men at arms, that would work.

Well, against a Star Dragon, my Lord's getting wounded 3-4 times, and he's got three 5+ saves against them. Since he's got a high I, he should be able to swing twice (four hits isn't playing the odds with Killing Blow, but neither is 5, technically).

The way I see it, a Brettonian Lord is going to be hard-pressed to win a fight against a dragon or a Chaos Lord, no matter what his build (his enemy's is still better). This way, I stand a chance against a few things, and I think he's still viable (destroying your weapon in the first round, and threatening you with Killing Blow thereafter).

I'm not too worried about character builds as much as I am with the overall concept- hence the Men-at-Arms.
