where ever the army sends me

Hey guys I am relatively new to wtb I've got about 6-7 games under my belt with my dwarves but haven't played any with skaven here is my first list. I don't want to cheez up the list too much but still be competitive. With no further ado

assasin w/warpforge blade
warlord with fellblade and shield
plague priest lvl2
19 plague monks w/FC banner of under empire
20 stormvermin with stormbanner
Doomwheel
29 clanrats w/ musician, SB shields spears
35 clanrats w/ shields and FC
50 slaves w/musician
50 slaves w/musician

I don't know maybe it's because I don't have laserguided cannons or 75 great weapons but I don't feel this list is very strong. What can I do to make it better or is it table worthy how it stands?

It's decent. You're certainly a far cry from cheese, but it's not bad. Here's my suggestions.

-the Warpforged Blade is cool, but I'd recommend something that made wounds easier to cause, rather than harder to save. The Weeping Blade, of course, or perhaps the Sword of Anti-Heroes. A Potion of Strength is a pretty popular addition to that.

- You need a BSB. That's all there is to it. They are...very, very good. And he needs to be well-protected.

- a flail on the Priest.

- the Monks and the Stormvermin units are, in my opinion, too small. 25 minimum, I would say. Also, I'd suggest the Shroud of Dripping Death over the Banner of the Under Empire for the Monks; it negates armour, which is exactly what your Monks will struggle against (and that banner is statistically better in a wider variety of situations).

- The Doom Wheel is pretty neat, but I'm not sold on it. At least, in this list. It is relatively slow and, now, very difficult to manuever. It is, simply put, not good against any decent sized block of troops. I'd suggest some Rat Ogres, Weapon Teams, or Gutter Runners instead, at this point level.

- I'd drop the spears on the one unit of Clannies. They can't kill much even with 'em, and the 6+ parry will hopefully keep them around long enough for something a bit meatier to come on in.

- Full command on all units. A clawleader for your spear-rats, and pawleaders for your slaves. To challenge horrifying lord-level characters, if nothing else. 'Cause it's funny, and it preserves models.

Ok these sound like solid ideas but where would you suggest getting the points from. Dropping the spears net me 15 points.

I'd drop either (A) the Doom Wheel, for an extra 150, or (B) the smaller unit of Clanrats, for 140.5. Then, I'd downgrade the weapon on the assassin (another 20 saved). I'd then bump the two "elite" infantry units five models each (total of 70), grab a flail and some pawleaders (16), get a BSB with the Charmed Shield (75), and upgrade the Monks banner (5 points), dropping an odd slave or two to get any extra points needed.

If you did both A and B, you could get three Rat Ogres and a Packmaster, a Warpfire Thrower and a Poisoned Wind Mortar, or, like, 8 Gutter Runners with all the good upgrades.

I appreciate the advice and will probably drop the clan rats as I do want to field at least one centerpeice model. Honestly one of the things that attracted me to skaven was the models so I will keep the doomwheel and drop the rats. Thanks again
