Now for a bit of a preface. Me and a friend of mine have gone halfsies on another Battle for Skull Pass, bringing us both up to 2 of our prospective Armies (Me orcs and Goblins, him Dwarves). We are only really playing our second game and I was wondering if any of you could give me any advice. I got stomped by him last time and I've decided to pull out some of my orcs for the next game. Now literally everything in this list is what I have to make do with. I have no more and no less in models, so I can't put in Chariots or Boar riders or Squig Herders. If necessary I'm sure I can cajole him into switching it to a 2000 or even a 1750 point game. Well, Here it is.
Ohh, and as far as I'm aware, he has nothing aside from the 2 sets of Dwarves from Battle for Skull Pass, which with the right upgrade options could easily be 2000 or 2500 points.
Orcs and Goblins – 2500 pts

If this is all you've got, then this is all you've got, but I'd say change the Trolls to River instead of Stone. In general I think they're a lot better and the magic resistance of Stone is useless against Dwarfs.

If he's getting to 2000 on just 2 sets of skull pass, then he's absolutely pouring points into characters. And if that's the case, you should be fine. Let any dwarf characters get bogged down fighting gobbos.
In fact, you might well be overkill on the fanatics- I don't think you should need that many. You might want to combine a couple of those units into bigger stacks of 40+ and give them some nets for extra survivability.

Well, the troll's MR is useless against everyone, now that you either get Ward or Regen. I suppose you get a 5+ against flaming magic...but River trolls are way, way better.
So...hmm. Are you guys playing 7th edition?
...Is this a really old thread? My monitor says its not.
Am I an unwilling Thread Necromancer?
Well, I'll risk it. If you're playing 8th edition (as O&G and Dwarf players, you want to), you can't have the same magic item twice, even if it's common. So only one Talisman of Protection, and only one Dispel Scroll.
That said, don't take those two items at all; the talisman is awful, and the Dispel Scroll will be useless against your opponent.
Now, your characters need some bite, and they need some staying power. Here's what I suggest.
- Make the Warboss a Big Boss. Give 'em light armour and either: Wallopa's One Hit Wunda and the Triksey Trinket (72pts) to try and kill his general, or: great weapon, Madcap mushrooms (56pts).
- make all the shamans level 4's and 2's. Give the big guy the Talisman of Preservation and the Power Scroll (295pts), and give the other two some neat goodies (Brimstone Bauble, Magic Mushrooms, if you dare).
- your BSB needs some protecting, and he doesn't really need the magic banner (a Charmed Shield and a 5+ Ward save would do a lot).
- Condense all the spear-gobbos into 2 big units of 40. Give 'em nets (you don't really need them to actually have nets).
Make sure all four units have 3 fanatics.
- Give the Orc Biggun's the banner your BSB had, and get them some regular choppas, if not two (if you really don't have the bitz, you could snip ten of their spears in half and call them clubs).
- Drop the Spirit Totem on the Black Orcs.
I'd suggest using some spacers to fill out the orc units. 25% of the unit can be done-up bases, without causing much of a stir.

you cant have 2 dispel scrolls
Core Units: 1423

Orcs – 18; Big 'Uns, Spears, Shields, Gork's WAAAGH! Banner, Full Command – 253
too many fanatics your going to trap yourself or worse wind up having 14 fanatics hitting you in the Gob. Aswell why such small units? Your wasting points on command goups and extra fanatics that you could be spending on more artillery or big uns. Speaking of big uns after you drop a whole bunch of fanatics and comman beef these guys to 30 strong and give them the spirit totem.
Special Units: 288
Goblin Spear Chukka – 2 – 70
Black Orcs – 10; Full Command, Mork's Spirit totem – 218
go big or go home. make these bigger or drop them my votes on drop them as 218 for 10 models is better spent elsewhere like on lobbas and chukkas
Rare Units:
Trolls – 2, River – 120
2 tolls wont do anything
fixes above.i undertand this is all you have so consider it as more of a guideline for what to get in the future

Thanks for all the suggestions guys. I'm going to be posting a revised list in a moment. I just talked to my buddy and we are going to be doing some Proxy fun so I'm going to try Wolf Riders instead of Spider Riders and I'm trying to find something fun to do with the trolls. Combine the 2 bases to make a chariot base?

@exodusofman: I'm pretty sure c34 here was just listing things in a combined army list/"this is what I've got" sort of thing. I think. Hence the small units of orcs (see the preface of the OP).

If your going to run trolls I would get at least 6 of them in 3x2 setup so they can have ranks. I know you don't have any more than you currently have. But its useful to know for future battles. I would also trim down on fanatics ( maybe half of them but still have pairs of them to a unit ) and combine some of your night goblin units to 40 strong. 20 wont last long in a fight. I would probably combine your spider riders units as well. Then either see if your friend will make it a 2000 point match as you seem to be having problems with model limits for the points. Should be a fun battle though dwarf V goblins!
