These are my almost finished revered champion and revered brother ( honor guard for my chapter). I am in the process of touching up areas i missed and adding detail, but i couldnt resist putting these two up. my third revered brother is nothing special. kindness is wanted, but critizism is also necessary.

“Brothers, what we do on the battlefield is not just for our chapter but, for the entire Imperium. Every Xenos that falls by our hands will be a testament to our unwavering duty to the Emperor. Every heretic that is crushed under our feet will be a testament to our undying loyalty to the citizens of Imperial Space. We will baptize ourselves in fire and emerge as the most steadfast defenders of humanity.” - qoute from my own homegrown chapter

Just a bit too heavy on the paint. It could be the camera/lighing, but it looks kind of gloppy in areas.

The Imperium using advanced technology is like drinking Pepsi out of a Coke bottle.

Would I be wrong in assuming that you're relatively young and relatively new to painting? It's not really relevant, but it seems that painters in that category are the most likely to run into the same issues I see here. Whether or not that holds true, the single point that will most improve these models is... [drumroll]... patience.

I notice a number of brush slips scattered around (cloak color spilling onto thigh, face mask) that indicate a degree of rushing, but those can be cleaned up without too much trouble. The main issue is the quality of the paint's finish. Flat surfaces have an uneven, streaky quality and the edges of lines are somewhat muddled and dusty. This leads me to believe that you're using overly thick paint in a single coat.

If you want smoother, cleaner looking models, you'll want to thin your paint somewhat with water, which will allow them to flow smoothly onto the model - no visible brush strokes, no chalky drybrushed-looking lines. This will also necessitate multiple coats of paint to get good, solid coverage of your colors, which is why I stress patience. Proper paint thinning and practiced brush control will make your models look ten times as good, without even moving on to highlighting/shading and more advanced techniques.

yea i figured my painting was horrible. But i really like the model. His robe to me makes him look great, but the paint does kinda ruin it
