I purchased an oop Librarian some time ago that I thought looked cool. I finally got around to trying to put it together but I noticed a problem trying to put a powerpack on it. It has a huge shoulder pad in the way with his arm bend. I'm not sure if the old powerpack were different or something but if anyone has a picture of this completed or tips to put powerpack on, I'd appreciate it.

as with all the old metal models the backpacks seemed to pop out on a stalk so that might be the problem. the old packs were a little smaller too IIRC

Old power packs were about the same size but the round exhausts were not as big. You should still be able to just stick one on. Just be careful about positioning it to make sure it looks good.

I tried too. The power pack usually ends up too far away to be glued well or at a slant.

Since the back pack you put on might only be something new, why not file it down to fit the model? Too obvious on the table top or are you going for a show piece?

Only a fraction. And they still didn't fit on properly.

I had the same problem with this guy, which from memory is the same base miniature with different detailing (all 4 of the 2nd edition Librarians ranks had two variants done that way) ... I just pushed the pack on as far as it would go, up flush against the shoulder pads.
