After playnig and gathering my Empire army for the better part of nearly 2 years now, I have already been considering on what other fantasy army I should run to mix things upso that I wont get bored or tired of playing my Empire. I run a infantry heavy Empire army at the moment, after looking through various other books I've narrowed the field of choice to possibly either Bretonnia, Dark Elves, and Ogers. Now the reasons that I believe that either one of these armies would make a good 2nd army is because:
+ Bretonnia: Pretty much the exact oppisite of my Empire in every way possible, with lots of units of knights with some peasentry and trebuchets mixed in to make them all the more effective (seen what 2x trebuchets can do to an army and its just nasty !).
+ Dark Elves: Adds a more unique playing style then my empire, along with various units and the ability to take some nasty magic and shooting, along with a hydra which can be just nasty to oppents. Also, I like the idea of a few units of Cold One Knights since they can be really effective and plus the new models look awesome.
+Ogers: Pretty much as far as oppisite I can go from a horde Army, which means a lot less models to buy and with a pretty simple army book, making this an easy army to gather, which offers some interesting units as well. However, instead of buying the Oger models, I really enjoy the idea of using the beastmen minotaurs as my ogers, and a army of minotaurs would look just awesome in my opinion.
So thats where it stands at the moment. Should I go the valient knights of Bretonnia, the ruthless Dark Elves, or the good old Oger's?
