I will be posting some pics of my third Killa Kan (and third ever painting project). The first two were done with an expert friend of mine looking over my shoulder, who showed me some tips/tricks. This on is my first solo attempt, and I'm hoping for some feedback on things I did right, did wrong, or did not.

I do plan to go back over the exhausts with some black/smut to show wear from the exhaust smoke, I just don't have the right paints to do it yet. I will also probably work on the DCCW as far as blood/stains/etc. go. But other than those two items, please let me know what you think.

Thanks!

I tried to give this one a rusty, dirty, battle beaten look. The green on the engine was (in progress) going to be a lighted effect of the engine glowing from within. I might have had a bit too much fun with the rokkits... Used a lot of bright colors...

Nice work. I especially like the subtle, almost translucent rust. I feel that with such a deep red, the typical, brighter orange rust people love to put on orks just wouldn't have worked as well.

Looks great for a first try. I don't see anything "wrong" with it at all.

Now if you're interested in taking it to the next level you could add a bit of yellow or orange to the red colour that you've go there and give it a highlight, leaving the original colour in the lower/shadowed areas.

Some other things to try would be to add more warpaint and markings to it like dags and checkerboard patterns.

And this is Kan number one. This was the first 40K model I painted, again with a pro looking on and guiding my path. He did the bases for these well, while showing me how to based models.

I need to do some touch ups. Add some blood/gore/rust to the DCCW, etc. And maybe anything that you guys suggest that I didn't do. lol.

Over all they are pretty finished for now.I have a Trukk and a Battle Wagon (and about 100 boyz....) that I hope to start on soon...

Thanks for the comment so far. Keep 'em coming. I'm very much still learning.
