i have been wanting to make a webway portal for so long its untrue , did try making one out of foam and that was years ago. and just lost interest , i have now got the bug to make it and make it better, I cant guarantee ill get it finished anytime soon but I do intent to get this one done .

i have already decided on a design and material I’m going to use, it’s made out of expanded pvc sheets cut and glued to get the basic shape, this is how far I’ve got to date.

That looks tight, now you just got to paint it up.

What do you mean? That looks done!

Planning anymore? Lightning Shrines would be great for Planetstrike

It needs a lot more cleaning up and filling in some scratches and dints ( made by me dropping it at various stages in its construction) , have made up some rune stones ( as shown in the picture ) but not sure if it needs some more detail as to me it looks a bit plain.. Any ideas on detail are helpful. If not could always try and clean it up and cast it see how it tunes out. I intent to have the base a little smaller that the one pictured

I think it works well with the Eldar aesthetic, but if you want more detail I would try and add those recessed lines that Eldar vehicles have.

Looking good !

Any chance for closer pics of the recessed areas?

Infinity: Way, way better than 40K and more affordable to boot!

I'm thinking this one might be close to ready , once the clearing and covering up all the dints and scratches is done, im toying with the idea of some more eldar style scenery maybe a landing pad or sorting along those lines .

if anyone could suggest some good places to get some ideas let me know

Your work table looks like mine does, junk everywhere, and to afraid to throw any of it away for fear of the day when you'll just that exact piece to complete something.

that webway vr 1 looks like it's made of wood, yes? if so clean it up, add a little more detail to it and then sell it or trade it. hell, i'd be interested in it myself if i had some spending money, but that won't happen for a while. need the weather to start clearing up so people start spending more time out and about, then hr's will pick up at work again, then i'll have some free money to play with.

Really sharp looking... I don't necessarily like the way the eldar models look... but there terrain always looks so perfect for 40k.

you are right its been some time on the update ...

the first webway was made from pinkfoam and coated in plaster and overtime i started to not like it and also dam it broke it beyond fixing point ... so moved on to the current project and its from a lot harder material ( mainly for casting purposes) but yet again dropped it.. broke the tip a bit but lucky should be able to fix it.

Not had much time to get the master to a finished quality a silly amount of dents and holes need filling and its being very resistant to my efforts to fig them … but I WILL get this one done it WILL not beat me… and when I get some more mold material will get it done ..

I noticed at the bottom of your posts the WWW link, hovered over it out of curiosity, and what to my surprise do I find but a whole website. Whoohoo!

So I went looking and I must say you have some nice stuff there, I especially like the industrial pipes, and will be getting some of those in the future,I I also like the crystal bases you have, but already found a way to do that for my Eldar by using rock salt. I also want that underground beastie. Is there a chance that you will ever make a beastie that has partially emerged from it's hole to attack something? Kinda like the Sandworms from Dune, or the Asteroid Worm in the 2nd(?) Star Wars movie.

on another topic have running there will be a new addition to the pipes http://www.dakkadakka.com/dakkaforum/posts/list/342400.page until i get this webway done not too sure what will be added . no plan on the hill beast but more likely some more bases and maybe toying with the idea for a landing pad but those all just doodles on pad at this point in time.

might try this weekend to clean up the wabway and fill in all those dam gaps and small dents ... time will tell

cool beans, now all i need is for my hrs at work to pick back up into the 36 - 40 hr range and for real life to quit blindsiding me with a blackjack and i'll be good to go to buy some of your stuff. in the meantime, i'll be watching and waiting, so i can learn some more about doing this kind of stuff my self.

well thats a bit of time off painting.. but might go for the classic cream and weather it up. the base is likly to be the same one i intended to use with the original one with a little re working . see att.

as for the finished product might offer one with a base and one without see how it goes ...

well last night got the model box out, mixed some stuff up and got out the tools .

some more work done on the webway.

not so you could tell but a lot of fixing and filling very small annoying bits . think its now time to put down some more money and try and get a master mold made and see how it turns out.

the ruler in the pictures is 15cm long might help with scale

It looks nice and clean. Good luck with the molding. What materials will you be using? Two piece or envelop mold?
