With my Wood Elf army nearing completion I have been thinking of my next project, after scouring the various threads and army books it was a close call between Lizardmen and VC, in the end I think I have settled on a VC army but the only thing I am worried about is another bog-standard build of a VC lord+Helm of commandment and a GG deathstar (with all the banners etc).

So my question is this; is there any other workable build besides the GG deathstar for a VC army, what swayed me towards a VC army was the thought of having a VC lord flying about on a Zombie dragon (not the best idea I know but my love of dragons is well documented and it will give me a chance to flex my converting muscles).

This army will not take shape until late this year (planning to add to my Wood Elves so I can field an all Elf army) so plenty of time to try out various list builds but wanted the opinion of the good folk on Dakka.

Having a vampire lord on a zombie dragon and thinking that the lords part must be maximum 25% im not sure if you can field one on a game of 2500 points. I do have a vampire lord on a zombie dragon tho just cause i like it its more up to you. I mostly playing VC with a unit of 6-8 blood knight, 1 unit of 20 Grave guards with GW and more core units like ghouls, skeletons, corpse cart, and some zombies. Sometimes i do use direwolves and ofc 1-2 necromancers and konrad + 1 more vampire as heroes.

I see no reason for any monster mounted lord to not fit in 2,5 k, i find it doubtfull that he costs over 625 pts.
