Friend asked me to come up with a datasheet for a 40K Apocalypse AC130.
So I came up with this:

Try buying a Thunderhawk its a futuristic AC-130 with attitude....

But for those of us who live in economical land...

Seems fair enough, but why not make it a flyer?

No offense but it kinda sucks


The battle capability is great but it has virtually no defense, low structure points, the thing about 1+ to the chart and against a good tank hunter or 2 that cost half of the ship's points you are so dead. Hammerhead or 2 will make this thing have a facesplosion never mind my leman russ vindicator

for the points cost at least give it some fighting chance against the tank or better yet a forcefield? Flyer would also work considering the fact to hit a flyer you need a 6 unless it is another flyer

Heres an alternate ruleset:

Spooky gunship - 400pts

Superheavy Flyer
3 Structure Points
BS: 4
AV13/12/10

Earthshaker Cannon - 24" to 240", Str 9 AP 3, Ordinance Barrage 1, Large Blast
Multi Grenade Launcher - 24", Assault 4, Frag or Krak grenades
Phalanx Cannon - 24", Str 6 AP 3, Assault 20

All attacks are pinning. Leadership tests against pinning are taken at a -1 due to continuous overhead fire. Each round that a unit is brought under fire, the leadership penalty increases by 1.

Spooky may move 12", or 6" and fire all weapons.

If all weapons are fired in one turn at one target, the next turn Spooky must either fly maximum distance toward a second target or fire all weapons again at the same target.

Spookys line of fire is a 45 degree cone from the left side of the flyer.

Spooky may use flares instead of firing (as popping smoke). Flares grant a 3+ cover save against missiles.

Drop the flare rule, or change it to just a 4+ coversave. There is no definition of what a 'missile' is so it's not really that good, and 3+ is a bit....over the top as far as cover goes.
