My feeling is that plaguebearers without the Locus were slightly over priced in 7th, and are definitely over priced now in 8th.

Something I have been considering recently is giving them the option for spears, for free. That imo would make them worth the points they are, whilst also providing something to clearly distinguish them from the roles of the other core units. The concept of having a poisoned slimy plague sword just stuck on the end of a spear is quite a tempting modelling project as well.

Bringing back a vomit attack would work as well.
Bringing back a vomit attack as the locus effect might make even more sense.

That would give you with the Locus:
Bloodletters = WS5, hit hard, re-rolls killing blow
Daemonettes = WS5, Tons of attacks, ASF, AP, re-rolls to hit (against most things)
Plague Bearers = WS3, Some auto hits, mixed with normal supporting attacks (poisoned).

Call the vomit a S3 save -2 auto hit, but can't be done as supporting attacks. Front rank vomit, 2nd rank swing.

Plague Bearers I think still have the short end of the stick in offense; but with T4, they might be close enough to not be a total waste.
