Hey for the imperial guard veterans can they only take one doctrine or can they take several?

Fields of War is a fantasy turn based strategy game that uses the innovative command system in place of more traditional turn structures.

True. Actually, can you legally buy multiples? It wouldn't stack repeatedly...or would it? Like Demolitions x2 giving 2 demo charges.

I thought it was one doctrine once, as its a specialization. Double carapace armour would have no effect etc.

I don't play as much as I could. I blame society! And ninjas

Wehrkind: "Nah, see he yells the order, and when everyone looks at him and say "What?" he grabs the vox, hits a guy with it and screams "CAN YOU HEAR MY NOW?!" into the mouth piece. Works like a charm "

Funny thing to do on L4D [if you own the server] Bind the tank music to a key, then at quiet moments press it and start firing like mad at something behind your team whilst screaming 'tank' on voice comms.

It says you can have "any of the following" and then lists the doctrines. If it said "any one" then you'd be limited to just one, the reason you din't see it done often is because it usually isn't worth the points to have more than one.

I can't see why you'd want to spend more than 30 points on tricking your dudes out with doctrines, since they're still T3 and going to die like dogs anyway.

Exactly, but RAW there's nothing saying you can't spend 90 points, making Guardsmen cost a mere 2 points less than a Marine if you want to.

Depending on the mission I have set for my Vets; I will sometimes give the same unit both Demolitions and forward sentries(or Grenadiers, again depending)

I would not generally mix Forward and grenadiers though.

This is my Rulebook. There are many Like it, but this one is mine. Without me, my rulebook is useless. Without my rulebook, I am useless.
Stop looking for buzz words and start reading the whole sentences.

Eh, to me it's just not worth it. I mean Demolitions could be useful, letting a suicide unit do even more damage, but ther other ones just dont' do enough. Sentries? If you're getting charged, you're likely screwed anyway. Carapace? Could be useful, but it's not enough to justify the points cost. For 30 points you could buy 3 melta or 2 plasma guns....I'd rather have that carpace.

That being said, the doctrines are nice for filling up points gaps that are too big to live with, but too small to squeeze in an extra unit.
