Ironically I haven't posted any of my Ultramarines, it requires effort to get them out the case. However, here's my newly finished Nigel. Comments and criticism appreciated and I'll be happy to try and answer any questions you might have.

I like your blending on the armor. Just two things that I think could improve it:
1. I would go with more of a Tallarn Flesh highlighted with Vomit Brown for the underside of the pelts.
2. Adding something more to the base would create some good contrast for the model.
Other than that, though, it's very nice and I would love to see this guy on the battlefield. Well... I mean if he's on my side. Not on the other side. Because he's wicked bad news.

Whom is "Nigel"?

If it is the SW character, his name is NJAL.

This is pronounced roughly the same as the old English name of Niall (a not uncommon middle name for males around where I live).

Although "Nigel no friends" also works a treat on SW players.

On the model: Runestones need something to make them 'pop' from the fur (they are traditionally made from wood, bone or ivory after all).
Same for the base. It's looking a little flat.

I'm OVER 50 (and so far over everyone's BS, too).
Old enough to know better, young enough to not give a ****.

That is not dead which can eternal lie ...

... and yet, with strange aeons, even death may die.

Cheers for the comments guys. Will try to alter the runestones tonight, but the pelt undersides (I presume you mean the fleshy bit?) will have to wait until I can buy a vomit brown. Any suggestions to make the base more interesting? I've got static grass and the 40k basing kit.

Cheers for the pronounciation of Njal, was never sure how to say that. In the shop we all just say 'Nigel' because its easier and amusing

Changed the rune stones so they now stand out from the fur. Coursework means I haven't done the base though and still waiting on paint for the cloak.

Nigel is a fine name. Njal is what happens when the games designers just want to go home

Nice work anyway, particularly the highlights
