As I mentioned in another thread, I'm sort of rewriting the 40K rules. I would like to ask what changes to the basic game mechanics you would like to see: I already have:
- a new turn sequence (where players use their units alternatingly, rather than their armies)
- Armour save modifiers instead of AP
- BS modifiers for shooting at longer or shorter ranges
- a "move" characteristic
- Overwatch
- an attempt to integrate vehicle damage with the normal system (with different armour saves in different arcs to represent different armour values).

Like it? Maybe not? Any ideas?

Very much like fantasy?

I see how you think those changes would improve play, but personally I like my 40k and Fantasy differentiated by more than just the models.

Chaos Space Marines, The Skull Guard: 4500pts
Fists of Dorn: 1500pts
Wood Elves, Awakened of Spring: 3425pts

Really? Is it that much like fantasy this way? Don't play fantasy myself, so I didn't know. I still think these would help 40K, though, as long as they don't get too complicated.

can kind of be considered to be in fantasy, with charge reactions existing!
