Subject: 1250 Sisters of Battle Team Tournament List

This was a list that I came up with on the spot for a 1250 (2500 total) Team Tournament that was held on the 12th of February this year. I had no planning ahead or even knew who my teammate was going to be because I showed up just randomly and they were short a player so I threw my hat into the ring. It was with a modified FOC of:
1-2 HQ
1-4 Troops
0-1 Elites
0-1 Fast Attack
0-1 Heavy Support
My List:
HQ:
Cannoness, BoSL, Cloak of St. Aspira, Jump Pack, Mantle of Ophelia, Rosarius, Frag Grenades, Melta Bombs, Inferno Pistol, Power Weapon
161 Points
Elites:
Sisters Repentia X 19, Eviscerator X 19
Repentia Mistress, Neural Whips
410 Points
Troops:
Battle Sisters Squad, Frag Grenades, Bolter X 7, Flamer, Heavy Flamer, VSS, BoSL, Bolter
Rhino, Smoke
210 Points
Battle Sisters Squad, Frag Grenades, Bolter X 7, Flamer, Heavy Flamer, VSS, BoSL, Bolter
Rhino, Smoke
210 Points
Fast Attack:
Seraphim Squad, Twin Bolt Pistols X 4, VSS, BoSL, Twin Bolt Pistols
121 Points
Heavy Support:
Exorcist Tank, Smoke
138
1250 total exactly. I had never fielded my Sisters Repentia before and despite all the negative things I heard about them, I was somewhat pleased with how they did and was happy to finally take them. Would definitely run them with a Priest next time. I wanted a somewhat varied list and I made use of ever slot option. I would've liked to been able to run the Seraphim with Inferno Pistols and upgrades on the VSS, but the points weren't there after the Repentia. The one thing I did get about my teammate before I made the list was that he was taking Tau and that I would be the CC element/deal with hoards. Oh joy I thought. For meaning I always got to tangle with the CC elements of our opponents, namely Nids, I used my Sisters well and we actually did quite well overall. Had my army been painted we would've had 3rd place for sure and possibly 2nd as going into the 3rd round we were 2-0 and essentially playing for 1st, but it was not meant to be.

Hey dude,
I'm glad the sisters came through for you. What did your Repentia come up against? They are a great fire magnet but I have never seen them weather fire or combat. Have you thought about running Arco-flagellants instead? They are actually pretty survivable, T5 and 4++ and with an average of 4.5 I4 PW attacks each on the charge, they absolutly rip through units. If you took ten, you would have enough to run inferno pistols on the Seraphim and 30 points to spare for other little bits. Just a suggestion though, sounds like you had a blast.

I actually have both, but I wanted to run just SoB units, not Ecclesiarchy ones. They actually did fairly well for me. The first game they almost got a 1st turn charge on a DP. It was really too close to call, even the TO agreed it was too close to call so we rolled for it and I lost. (DoW, DP had wings and went first, Repentia got Holy Rage but rolled poorly with it, assault roll was good with a 4 but it really was that close to call) Turn 2 the enemy Tau player DS 3 suits with twin-linked flamers and were able to wipe the squad to just the Mistress. She was then shot by Seeker Missiles because they were that afraid of her. Had the dice-off for my assault been successful, or If I had rolled just one higher on my Holy Rage or Difficult Terrain test to assault, I would have killed the DP no problem as it was already wounded once from a failed DT test and from my teammate's shooting. So sadly they just were a bullet magnet the first game, but that didn't deter me.
Second game they did get to assault Genestealers and almost wiped them despite going last. We did play one of the Broodlord's psychic powers wrong in favor of the Nid player, which probably would have enabled me to win the assault. As it was, I did wipe them down to a wounded Broodlord and just 1 stealer left.
Third game they got to multi-assault 3 enemy Chimeras, but due to them having moved 12" and poor rolling on the vehicle damage chart on my part, they only immobilized one and all 3 of them couldn't shoot or move. That was the game more than any other that I would've wanted a Priest with them. They then proceeded to get shot up with just about all the IG could throw at them and 3 Gaunt squads, AND then assaulted by those 3 Gaunt Squads. They died horribly, but soaked up most of the IG shooting.
I would field them again, but probably either not a full squad at that low of a points level (they were just about 1/3 of my army) or at full squad size and larger point levels. People were generally frightened by them and wanted them dead quick, so at least they were a psychological factor that I'll have to see about using in the future as well.
