I know there are previous threads about alternate Treekin models but didn't want threadromance anything so have set up this thread to show my attempts,

All my Treekin are are standard Dryad bodies with kroot heads and additional branches and arms to give them a six limbed appearence, I am really pleased with the results and the fact I can get 8 Treekin from one box of Dryads means a massive savings on the old wallet,

apologies for the qualities of the pics still to find the best lighting conditions

It is kind of hard to make out the details, but I think they "fit the bill" nicely. They look a little dryad(y), but they are big enough to easily not be confused for dryads and they look better than the GW treekin imho. I really like the $ savings.

dwarfs, wood elves, dark elves, bretonnians, WOC,
space wolves, orks, eldar

Thanks boogyman, I am really glad for the savings, what would be over £100 I made from £18.50.

Again I apologise for the rubbish picture quality, I need a new camera and need to find the optimal lighting but I wanted to post something to give the general idea.

Was just thinking that if I was going to use Dryads as an alternative for Treekin, Jim, I would consider chopping them in half at the waist and extinding them with GS or similar.
Maybe by half an inch or so?
This would give them a little extra height and help distinguish them more from Dryads.

Another alternative if like me you don't have Kroot heads would be to do as above in the "bark" of the torso and leave off the head, or maybe extended the torso and do a "bark" head on the upper torso.

Hope that makes sense and perhaps gives someone some ideas for a conversion.

Yep thy give a flavour of what you are doing!
Nice work and look forward to seeing them painted and based!
ps will you be adding foliiage. That might also help with the treekin look?

Yeah Chibi, I was planning to add static burnt grass to some of the top back branches, would help with adding a bit of height and the orangey colour will help with the Autumn theme I am going with for the paint scheme, the bark I intend on painting as a kind of silver birch so they should complement my brown/light brown colour scheme for my Elves, I intend on all the bows being silver birch colour as well, so plenty of tie ins.

I am now going to track down that thread with advice for picture taking
