GW its fine. Its fluffy and isn't missing any critical tools. If that's what its for stop reading now
Unfortunately, if you plan on playing competitively it doesn't work out as well. The improvements made to vehicles in 5th edition have made them nearly mandatory. At any point level much above 1000, their cost starts to outpace the cost of infantry and they dominate. The mobility and firepower they have is too efficient to be left on the sidelines. To compete at levels above 1000 points, you must mech up. It will save money as well. Mech lists easily scale up by adding additional units to a basic building block. Converting from foot to mech at 2000 would be really expensive. By incrementally adding to a mech list, you will save money and spread the cost out over time.

It plays on the strengths of the vanilla marine list namely very efficent shooting. This list is designed to dominate the middle of the board and hold in against counterattacks.
