Hi Dakka, let me first apologize if this is int he wrong place, I searched before and couldn't find the answers I needed. ok, onto the more important bit, I've played 40k for 4 years now (give or take). my first army was marines, but I saw very little success with them, I have moved onto tyranids and have seen mixed results, but more importantly I enjoy playing with them. I have recently started a chaos marine army, and enjoy playing with them as well as painting with them, but again I have received very mixed results.

Whilst I was in my local GW I started having a discussion with the manager, and we got talking about the Badab war, and this very quickly jumped to me wanting a new 'loyalist' army, so ten minutes later I find myself leaving the store with a vanilla codex, a can of spray, some paints and more importantly, a space marine battle force.

I've decdied to start an astral claws army, and painted a test model (or got part way through anyhow) for the astral claws, on another note, it turns out we both got the scheme wrong as we went for gray opposed to the silver it should be, although im not sure I care enough, I want more of a challenge than painting silver (again, my chaos marines are silver with a clolured wash over, so asurmen for tzeenth, lots of baal red for khorne etc...)

Anyway, onto the important part, I want to ask what the most effective build is straight from the battleforce, using nothing else, i've had an idea so ill type it up, but ultimately I want to now the most effective way of equiping my battle force)
