So, my camera isn't playing the game today - 2 sets of batteries and I barely have usable pictures
I'm hungover as my buddy had his going away party last night (off to Afghanistan with the Aus army - May he return safely!)
Hopefully I can string some coherent sentences together...
I thought I'd list out where this army has been heading since my original post.
It has definitely grown somewhat and now includes-
Demon prince (pictured earlier)
Chaos Lord on Juggernaught
10 Chaos Knights
15 Wolves
10 Chaos Chosen
2 Exaulted Champions - These guys are awesome one is from avatars of war the other is a banelord from Maelstrom.
24 Warriors (12 built - 12 still in box)
52 Marauders (20 pretty much built)
I really didn't want to just smash the models together and be done with them. Being the plastic gold that they are I won't be able to easily go out and purchase another army in a hurry... I'm putting in a fair amount of effort to really make this army my own individual piece of work.
No single miniature will be exactly the same as another. Even if the only difference is something simple like a head swap or battle damage (part of a helmet horn cut off or damage to armour actually modeled not just painted on).
Just cleaning mold lines off all the individual parts is very time consuming for me (I think I keep getting very low quality boxes from
GW). Something else that I considered while making these guys was durability, being the clumsy oaf that I am, I decided to not model any of these guys with flails as they look to be much weaker than swords/axes - the last thing I want to be doing is reattaching weapons every time I drop a model...
For my Warriors I kind of gave up on individualizing each one as they don't have enough parts to customize easily, although they all needed greenstuffing along the join in the cloak fur (along the top) so I spent a fair amount of time tooling
GS fur to blend in the gaps. Great opportunity to further play with
GS and learn how to work it
I also got kicked off the kitchen table by the "Minister of Finance" and I now have a new workspace in the garage! It is currently a mess and pretty much just dumped there but eventually I will tidy it up and create an orderly workspace... The only problem with this area is the garage has no window so I have no natural light or ventilation :(
I have also been playing around with basing materials and I will have something to show you guys in the next update (hopefully not in 4 months time ,
lol)
Currently I may be in the running for the slowest army build in history (I originally started this army in August '10) but I am making progress! It has been a huge learning curve and in general I have been enjoying myself

Something that I could really use help with is how to make these guys so that they all fit together (base to base) neatly! Especially the knights - the models are to fat for the bases.... Any tips?
Take it easy
