Painting my raiders, trying to decide whether or not to paint adamantite differently, and whether or not to paint it on top. Attatched is a few pictures of two of my three LRs with adamantite painted on both the sides and the top, and one with just the sides. SO my question, is the painting good (overall quality and adamantite quality), how I can improve it, and whether or not I should even paint the adamantite, thanks!

Ok, first thing, I'm really sorry about what I'm going to say.

Thing is, I understand what you tried to do (some kind of Jade look, but blue), but the only result is that it looks like a really bad paintjob :/ And most of it is not really defined, you shouldn't have blue on the edges of your adamantite plates.

And only two colours is bad, you should try to find a third color (to replace the too-bright-to-be-cool blue you have on the twinlasers circling, or the hatches sides for example). I don't know which, since clear blue is quite a difficult color to associate, try along the lines of red/orange/yellow, or maybe some gold/bronze. A dark color will not be seen, and a bright color will be too much, so... just try ^^

To go back to the paintjob, why don't you try a powersword-like effect on your adamantite plates? As I said, your basic idea is good, but as of now it looks too much like a quick-painted LR (which is bad for you, especially if you've spent so much time on it)

Good luck, and I'll be waiting for pics of your progress

I'm afraid Mikalichou pretty much summed it up for me, too...

Alright, should I solidify it, or just black it out?

I don't care for it, TBH I would suggest dropping the whole adamantite idea altogether and going with a simple traditional color scheme.

A traditional scheme done well is better than an nontraditional scheme done poorly IMO.

Sry if this seems harsh but you did ask...

I would take a piece of plastic and try different methods before applying to an actual model.

It's a good idea and unlike Masster_fett I would stick with the idea, it's nice to try something different. (I do understand his point of view and he is also correct, it's needs to be better quality)

How about using a dark metallic color and an ink? Adding details with highlighting.

If you're bound and determined to see it through I would suggest some studs ala

Of course you would have to strip the paint to do this... but you would have to strip it anyway if you decided to get reid of the blue (I would suggest that you not simply paint heavily over it).
