Since this is my first post, first off hello everyone! I've been in this hobby for a few years (7 maybe?) and I don't have a fully painted army to show for it. So I have decided to start a blog for my new project of Eldar in hopes to have it all painted. I haven't decided on a theme yet, but I'm leaning towards purple and blue, but I'm not 100% on that yet.

This is what I have to start with.

Welcome to dakka! That's a tasty looking mechdar list, I would love to be able to lay that out in one go! Looking forward to seeing you start painting. Any conversions planned? I'm new to starting some pointy ears myself so hopefully this will be motivational for me too.

At first I won't any conversions planned, simply because I have to have this assembled and painted by mid March for a tourny. Luckily I have a tasty air brush to assist with the vehicles. I did manage to figure out a way to magnetize my fire prism/night spinner though. I'll post my how to when I start my second one. Yesterday was a long day of modeling. As of right now, all 6 wave serpents are built, 1 fire prism, 15 dire avengers, 10 guardians built, 48 bases detailed (using cork board), and 15 fire dragons cleaned up and moved to their new bases. I still have to get rid of the "detailed base element" on the exarch models though. I need to wait for the weather to clear up before I can prime and begin to paint. Too much humidity right now.

I decided to lean more towards the craft word Il-Kaithe as they are known for, according to online information, their use of wave serpents and the like.

Well small little update (no painting yet unfortunately, hopefully after work I can get some priming in). I still have some flash I need to clean. Half a month left till the tourny. I need to get cracking on painting.

Your eyes do not deceive you. Currently deciding what I want to do with the base before I go about painting him though. He needs something special.

I know I haven't posted much (been playing DoW II), but I really need to crack down and get some painting done. Here is my general paint scheme for the wave serpents that will be transporting my fire dragons. I currently have three finished so far. I know I still have detail to do and such, I hope to have time before the tourny to paint the gems. For now though I am focusing on getting three colors on a model. Weapons and the like will be painted in a large batch once I am done with the vehicles.



The wave serpents for my troops will painted in a similar fashion, just switch the purple and green around. As with my Fire Prisms/Night Spinners.

I hope to try my hand at a mirror finish for the canopies, which is why there are on there. I am not a fan of the clear plastic look.

Well second update for the day. I have finished the airbrushing on all the vehicles. I just need to do the green bar on the purple ones, weapons, and then detail. I'm pretty happy with the way they all turned out. Let me know what you think so far!

Small update. I have my Dire Avengers done for the post part. I still have detail to do on them, but the base colors are done.

However today I got a present in the mail from me (I'm so nice!)

I need to straighten the pulse lasers a little bit more, but I wanted to get a picture up.
