Nice looking scratchbuild! I'm just curious about the time you invested into it. I have been pondering trying to scratchbuild a warhound for awhile now but don't have any idea how much time a project like that would require.

im going to use them with my entire 8th co. 100 assault marines 9 DC and 1 dreadnaught , oh + the sanguinator. And the flight of the valkyries will be played! and stormravens ( as I witnessed last night) blow up pretty easily so I think anyone would do pretty well. I wish i could Deepstrike achilles land raiders, how ridic would that be! Not smart but crazypie 9000!

What's going on, guys. I'm xdefton3sx's friend who built the Thunderhawk. It was a large undertaking, but for the price ($55 ish), it can't be beat.

@augustus5: Warhound Titans are actually easier to build than Thunderhawks. I've built about half a dozen or more for different people (another one of my friends posts here often, he's the gentleman with the Chaos horde--counts as Orks--and Sisters, he's got one of the Titans I built). In all, if you work on it steadily, it should take less than a month to complete, and if you have a good idea of what you need from the start, the project should only cost about $40. Magnets are your best friends, and you'll get out of it what you put in.

Here's a link to the now-infamous Warhound Titan template:

If anyone has any questions, feel free to ask.

I really want to build two of these and a Stormbird to use with Space Wolves. Do you have the template you used for this? Or was it all just eyeballing?

@eledamris:

The template I used for this was a horrible mish-mash of a template with measurements taken from the old metal Thunderhawk. I had to redesign a good 3/4ths of the model to bring it up to snuff, and I didn't save any of the templates I made. There's a great paper model of the Thunderhawk available here:

http://boards.4chan.org/po/res/419042#419042

The images of the Thunderhawks open up .pdf files for the parts. The only thing to keep in mind is that this is a paper model, so you'll have to get a little creative when preparing the parts. You won't use about about half of them. Have you built any models from scratch before?

Yep, I've done a few scratchbuilds before, although nothing as elaborate as this. The pdf's are in Russian, which is lucky for me, but most of it isn't text anyway so I'm sure the templates will work just fine. Thanks for the link, and I'll have to post when I'm done.

I got to see this first hand and it's very well crafted. The upper wings with the lascannons move and the weapons are all magnetized; but what I like the most about the model is its weight. It's incredibly light which makes for easy transport as well as easy fly base mounting.

A+ to Jordan for the great build and two thumbs up to xdefton3sx for putting it to good use. I'm totally envious.
