Well, I didn't see this up and I did a search

so, here it is. I noticed today that they've "improved" the free shipping deal by guaranteed same day dispatch (which is good) but also increased the minimum order to $30 (which is bad).

On the whole, I'd rather the old method, which only took a few days to dispatch. There were a few things I grabbed directly vs the warstore just because the free shipping made it worth it - now, not so much.

I think this has been posted but I seem to remember the title was something like "WTF GW! Skewing me over again Wah!", not something the search function would turn up.

Not really a big change is it though? Not sure about what you pay in the US but this is presumably about a small box set price if the UK level is anything to go by?

But then of course who buys direct from GW anymore?

Noticed this last week...and then I was surprised there were things GW still sold for less than $30.00.

In all seriousness though, it won't affect most orders.

it's a 100% increase. For me, at least, it's the different between ordering one of the $15 heroes\IC's on impulse, and deciding not to, as I don't want to pay $6 or whatever in shipping for a $15 model. I'm much more inclined to decide to order it from the Warstore at some indeterminate future date (and then not doing so) then I am to double the cost of my order.

$15 is an impulse buy, $30 is not, tl;dr version.

edit - and, this was already about a month ago, turns out. Derp

I'm of the opinion that news of Games Workshop increasing its prices isn't really news at all, and should join question threads as a type that is auto-locked by the mods.

The Postal rates, and all other shippers, have had to increase their shipping rates slowly over the past couple of years. These thing aren't transported a la Star Trek, they are driven in vehicles requiring gas and diesel. Those prices creeping up, as they are doing again, requires the shipping to go up and so forth. Many mail-order/internet companies have been doing the same thing to cover costs.

This is the way the world works...
