Hello Dakka, I just wanted to share a recent project of mine. I had so much fun with the last one I just had to make another
You gotta love the Chaplains and who better embodies their persona than a Blood Angel?
He's up on E-bay right now if anyone's interested

and as always here's the obligatory Blog plug. I've been prepping for Adepticon over the last few posts if that tickles yer fancy.

I'm happy to discuss techniques and tips too, C&C always welcome
Love,

Outstanding work, not a fan of the half-skull helmet, but its got a great paintjob nonetheless.

The difference between commitment and involvement is like eggs and ham; the ckicken was "involved", the pig was "comitted".

Looks awesome man, I'm most impressed by the shading done with the greys. How did you do it? It looks quite good man.

I'm going mental for the dusting on the legs. Got the same thing going on on my assault marines.
Great model. Great face mask and great lettering on the Mortis pad. Love the trouble you went to to magnetise him.
Sex wee.

Thanks for checking him out and taking the time to comment guys!
@Twalks- the trick is to start with a dark grey, close to black, and build it up to shadow grey, then add your codex grey followed by a badab black wash. Then grey highlights to white. I've found that shadow grey really makes it pop, it's very subtle on this model but it's in there.
The main philosophy is to never use true black, your wash will create the black where it needs to be. I never use straight black.
Here's a simple experiment. Paint a surface adeptus battlegrey followed by a simple edge highlight of codex grey. Now wash with badab and re-apply the codex grey, make sure you don't completely cover the first layer of grey. It's a simple but effective black and comes out much more true to life that way.

The blending of the black tones is incredible! Magnificent work on the chaplain! I also like that you painted all of the options for him.
