This is pretty cool. It's a nice resolution video that shows close ups of the new sprues, as well as a few pages of the new codex.

Niiice. I might start a Grey Knights Army, but first I need to finish my Imperial Fists.

Haha. Did you notice the rule about Nemesis Force Weapons. It says you take one psychic test for the unit and then for that phase all wounds caused by the unit cause instant death. Pretty crazy in some specific situations.

Lots of good bits in the GKT box. Some good looking ones in the dreadknight set too. Dunno if Ill ever build one, still think it looks pretty hokey, but some good conversion bits in it.

Whats my game?

That would be scary. Except for the fact that almost everything I have as a dark eldar player can already be instant killed. But seriously another reason to screw over Tyranid players. : D

It's awesome how many extra bitz you end up with. Not quite sure, but I may give all my Terminators that don't have heavy weapons the twin falchions. Still, I'll have to look at the actual book rather than the playtest book to see what has changed with them and what they do in the first place.

I like the deamon hammer, a thunder hammer that strikes at initiative order. So dreadknights will always be 10 with it, pretty much id to any tank if your unlucky enough to get charged by a knight.

I looked at that video again where it showed the page with the Nemesis Force Weapons. It looks like the daemon hammer only strikes on initiative with the Dreadknight.

True. Also, the force weapons psychic power doesn't ignore eternal warrior. However, the deamonbane ability (which is separate) does skirt around it.

Deamonbane: deamon and psycher models that take an unsaved wound from Nemesis force weapons must pass a leadership test at the end of the assualt phase or be removed as a casualty (doesn't mention instant death)...and...doesn't aegis armour lower the leadership of pyschers and deamons by 1...dreads by -4.

This movie is extremely well done. Gives a different perspective on the sprues, even from the large pics on the GW website.

Even better it works even if you don't activate the Instant Death powers of the force weapon.

yeah I noticed that with the Daemon hammer as well, from what I could see I think nemesis falchions give you +1 attack (not sure if we knew that already, last I heard they were meant to be like lightning claws)

Read the Codex and had to shake my head. Another step up the Codex Creep Stairs. I'll buy the codex, read up on this site on the "cool" and powerful combinations that most people will "play" and then figure out how to try to dismantle that combination.

On moon miranda.

Just out of curiosity, for anyone who has gotten their hands on them in the blackboxes, are the plastic GKT's significantly different in size from the metal ones? Are they noticeable if mixed together or not?

Here's some bad news about the Grey Knights Codex. Remember the binding problem that became persistent with these books starting with the current Dark Elf Army book and lasting all the way through Warriors Of Chaos as a result of GW switching to a new and inferior binding company in China? Well, I've seen two copies of Codex Grey Knights already and BOTH of them had the problem in the usual spot, the next to last page of the book. Within minutes of people glancing at the book it was splitting apart all the way down to the binding at the next to last page. If you look at these books on the spine you can even see that the glue does not go all the way across. If I can't find a decent copy of the book on release day, I won't be buying one till they fix the problem.

If it is that big of a problem to you, just run to your nearest office max and get them bound like spiral notebooks for 3 bucks. Its plastic spiraling and its pretty durable. I have them on all my books.

This quality issue is one of my few direct complaints about GW products. Unlike some forum users who complain about everything, I have very few complaints, but this is a clear and obvious product quality issue.

Customers should not have to spend additional funds to bind a book that falls apart because it is defective, especially at the current prices of $29 US. As long as customers give GW a free pass on this they will not feel a need to resolve the problem, which has now persisted for a few years over several different book releases.

Fortunately, at the peak of the problem some of my local GW store managers were keenly aware of this issue and exchanged books for us and one can call GW Customer Service if there's no store nearby to provide a replacement. However, GW won't know exactly how persistent and widespread the problem is if many people having the problem don't report it. Companies need to know about clearly defective products in order to correct the problem. I suggest reporting the problem and asking for a replacement if you experience your new book falling apart during normal, careful use, instead of letting it go unreported. Then, GW will be forced to fix the problem and all customers will benefit. GW benefits in the end from no longer having a bad reputation for that product.

agreed. it's ridiculous to suggest that the onus to fix a manufacturing defect should be on the consumer and not the manufacturer.

I got a good look at the new plastic GK at my local the other day. I am not impressed.

The number of options available is fantastic, defiinitely the highlight of the release.
Coupled with the price break compared to the metals, they are a good buy.

But a few things stuck out to me.

1. I liked the ammo feeds on the metals. The plastic stormbolters with magazines are not an improvement.
2. The barrels of the storm bolters are non-existant. They have to be drilled out.
3. Loss of the cool engravings on the shoulder pads, under the books.
4. Laziness on the part of the designer for using straight english instead of the pseudo-latin gothic used on the metals.

Reading the words "Smite", "Knight Champion", "Titan" in plain english makes them boring to me. I like the archaic feel the gibberish gives them.

I think the best option is to get a box of each plastic for the new options and kit-bash with metals for the best results.
I plan to pick up the new and build them with the new options, with none of the PA guys having SBs if I can help it.

I've always wondered, are people who receive the black box allowed to build the models on the sprue or are they sent back? I always like seeing the finished product together to get an idea of size and such.

They usually keep them in the shop, I think.

The storm bolters are pretty ugly, actually I don't understand what they were thinking with the ammo feeds.

There's too many books also, IMO. Just engrave it. We don't need all this extra crap getting in the way if we want to speed pain them

Honestly, I like the metals better. More character, and better heads. They feel more original too.
