Jealous that Horus is Warmaster

Hey everyone!

So I am making a return to tabletop gaming, figured I would paint up the army (or 2) worth of fig's I still have, they've only been collecting dust for a few years.
Here's the start of a Son's of Orar/Grey Knight army though that is in the making!

I'd love to hear any comments or feedback!
Thanks

Your mini looks n ice, but I kinda agree with Jordankeeps.
Maybe a marbled effect or something would look better.

Grey Knights that arn't painted silver!? What heresy is this!?... I mean looks great . You can't go wrong with black and red and it's wonderful to see GKs painted differently than the codex. I do have to second the motion on the pole arm though, I'm just not digging the purple.

great colour scheme and not a bad job on the painting of either i would ad that if you use a mechrite red and then just highlight small areas in the blood red and a blazing orange it would give you a much better red vibe. other than that keep it up and id only assume that your ganna jump straight into some new GK when it comes out i know i am.

Any suggestions for another color?
I'm thinking white, or blue?

@Aquaterry, do you have any pics of a marbled effect I could see? I think of cheese when I hear marble hahaha
@thedevilgunner - I did that with my second one, and I agree it looks fantastic!

I actually like the color of the pole.
If you were going to change it I'd say dark blue.

I had considered doing black as the armour for my GK's but I wasn't happy with the test model and went with silver, then after I looked at that I ended going with Grey.

Regarding the purple pole I think it would grow you on as the first look was a bit shocking, the second look I've started to warm to it.

It comes down to color theory. The thing you need to understand about colors is that colors that stand out will draw the eye. The trick is to put these eye drawing colors on components of the model you want the eye drawn to. Based on your feedback it's clear you're drawing the eye to the handle of his weapon. If that's ok with you then keep it. If you'd rather draw attention to, say, the weapon head or another component I'd go with a neutral color for the handle and save the "exciting" colors for the components you want to have attention.
