Good day all,

As stated, i'm looking for some suggestions on colour ideas for the aquilla on the chest, and power fist. As well, eye colour.....and if anybody has any ideas of what kind of base would make this model "pop" it would be greatly appreciated!

I have a 1500 point Howling Griffon army planned out....and this just my test model. Still some highlighting to do on the red, and the skulls/purity seal.

Thanks in advance for your help.

You could leave the wings black (highlighted with grey) or maybe silver. If it were me, I'd go with green or blue for the eyes. Since the color scheme is so bright, a muted city-fight or industrial base would probably look pretty good.

+1 green works with both colours. Quartered schemes always work better with muted bases, as there's a lot going on already on the model. A vivid coloured base would just confuse things. COngratulations on your patience. You're working with two of the most dodgy colours painting wise! Kudos!

Bushido: thank you for the suggestions! I believe that I'm going to go with black for the aquillas....and green is my top contender for the eye colour.

Phayse: lucky me, patience was a virtue that I have. So far I don't seem to be having too much difficulty with the 2 colours (knock on wood). I'm not looking to win any Golden Daemons here, just a nice clean look (that may score me some points for presentation in tourneys) I do have to agree with you on the base, I was thinking of doing a "monastary" look to them. I mean, this is the Howling Griffons i'm doing after-all....

Green eyes, white eagle, leave the fist yellow.

Darkish greys and browns for the base, maybe a city rubble scheme.
