Heh, first time I've actually dropped news before anyone else

To celebrate the Beasts of War highlight week of Infinity, they have not only released a new website, but are releasing starter armies this week only for 50% off. Now this isn't the typical GW crud crap starter that you now have to go out and buy all the good models, but rather the armies include the beautiful TAG models and put you straight into the standard gameplay total of points.

Massive kudos to Corvus Belli on this one, though there is a major downside. Depending on where you live, the shipping from Spain is really rough. At 50% off though it still makes it well worth it if you were on the fence about trying them out.

If you haven't looked into Infinity before it's a skirmish lvl game.l. The rules are free, the list builder is free, and the game doesn't get nearly the credit it deserves.

i think it's a good, no, Great deal but i don't think i like the models as much as my curent 40k ones. it just never seems to appeal to me as much as the 40k ones.. i will still watch Beasts of war's infinity week because they worked hard on that table, and it looks good! (also it will help thier income - more views -> more money from google ads -> more money for BoW -> continued good videos/ more models/ more pay for the dudes!).

i want to ask some things though:
is this a normal sized army?
how well are the armies in the pictures painted in comparison to other peoples armies?


anyway, looks like a good game for some and it's a great deal but i think i like 40k more for the sheer scale and more realism.









p.s - i posted something like this on youtube and i just don't see why i got hate messages.... they were calling me a GW fanboy and biased, but i don't see what the problem is with saying No thanks, i'm good, i don't feel like starting an infinity army. some people.... god, they are so easily inflamed....

Am only getting redX's which is as well I guess so as not to get tempted. Great deal and I do like the look of minis and game.

Also looking forward to BoW's Infinity week and the table is looking phenomenal!

I'm not a fan of the new CS website though. It's even slower than the old one - and the army deals don't do anyone outside of Europe any big favours (and I thought shipping from the US was extortionate).

That said, I have all of the models in the starters for my armies that are in those boxes anyway, and most of that was second hand, so I think, even with that 50%, I'm still ahead.

So the standard price for these is 90 euro for a 10-model starter. Wow. Just wow.

I think it's still pretty expensive. With that money i'd rather buy a warmachine starter

and you would get some other unit of it too

These are not starters... the starters have 6 minis and are 30euro at discount stores... these are ARMIES sets... your basically done with these... PP armies cost around 200 or more euros I find infinity quite afordable...

No, Im just pointing out, since you seem a bit confused, the difference of a starter and a full army! And almost all these deals have 1 huge metal mini in them, have you handled say a cascuda on combined deal or other big metal infinity beasts? I have and they are Huge chunks of metal...

I will indulge you one last time... yes metal wise you get more in 200 euros PP than on 90euros on Infinity no science there. for 200 euros on PP and infinity you get probably about the same, both seem a fair way to establish prices since costs of material are included... DUH.
In your reality if 60ishplus mm Cascuda game wise is cheap it should be cheaper money wise than a 28mm general... makes totally sense to me

IIRC, you were the one saying "I don't get it" every time I tried to explain my point. I understand your position just fine, thank you.

For 90 euro I can get a starter and almost two full units from PP. That's twice as many models, including big stuff.

The 50% discount just about brings Infinity into the realm of reasonable prices, that's all I'm saying.

Their new site is awfully slow. Not to mention riddled with typos.

Hm. I get paid on Friday, and I've been wanting to start Infinity. I inherited a huge Nomads collection, but I much prefer the look of Aleph...we'll see. Shipping to the US sounds atrocious, so it might actually be cheaper for me to buy them from Warstore, when all is said and done (no 50% off, but no huge shipping bill).

I folded!

Bought the Aleph and Pan Oceania.

Basically because I like the mechs/TAGS. No idea on rules etc but the models look like fun to paint.
