I used Armorcast muzzle flashes on my storm raven (I'm not to good at painting but they let me make things look cool). Nice rhino.

okay i finaalllyyy had time to work on it some, i apologize to those who have been wondering about this
I will start putting some more pics up but it is still unfinished (i need more free time )

when you have you supplies with you take some masking tape the width of the storm raven
cut in it half (long ways) from here you will apply it to the storm raven in a "/" fashion across the SR ( and make sure to leave the straightest side facing outward to have nice straight lines in the end)

And repeat for the other side "\"
    [Thumb - IMAG0110.jpg]
should come out looking something like this

    Blood Angel Neophyte Undergoing Surgeries

I then layered the paints (all explain in the picture descriptions)
    [Thumb - IMAG0111.jpg]
I then added several coats of mechrite red ( around 3 or 4) to make it as solid as possible

    [Thumb - IMAG0112.jpg]
then follow red gore with about 2 coats and with a smaller brush to give it a layered look

    [Thumb - IMAG0113.jpg]
and finally drybrushed blood red (drybrushing over about twice)

    Heres a little more
    [Thumb - IMAG0114.jpg]
after removing the tape you may notice random splotches outside the lines (continued next pic)

    [Thumb - IMAG0115.jpg]
you can just touch up whatever sticks out with Chaos black to make the lines smoother

    [Thumb - IMAG0117.jpg]
here it is touched up and the beginning of adding boltgun metal to engine( for this i just drybrushed it on to give it a faded look and to not over do the metallic color

    [Thumb - IMAG0118.jpg]
I began to drybrush more of the metal areas with boltgun metal (just one coat makes it look worn)

    [Thumb - IMAG0120.jpg]
i added Astronimican Grey for the blood angel wings insignia and mechrite red to both sides

    [Thumb - IMAG0121.jpg]
along with the pilot ( for him i gave him a spare BA shoulder pad)

Finally got around to finishing this! ill keep posting the process for you guys

    Automatically Appended Next Post:

Let me know what you guys think, i always like hearing tips, and if you guys have a version of your own post a pic!
    [Thumb - IMAG0142.jpg]
In this pic here i added colors to the consol, trying to layer colors to give it a better look

    [Thumb - IMAG0143.jpg]
i moved to painting the main turret adding the "X' affect to it as well. The gunner is painted in mecrite red for his clothing with blood red for hightlights and boltgun metal for arms and metal parts with badab black wash

    [Thumb - IMAG0144.jpg]
i added fortress grey to the wings, made the gem appear the best i could with Mechrite red and the blood red as a curve, and a tad of blazing orange for each side, and white lines for a shine

    [Thumb - IMAG0147.jpg]
i then highlighted the "X" with blazing orange to make it "pop" a little

    [Thumb - IMAG0149.jpg]
added cracks to the red with chaos black and highlighted those with orange all over the "X" for a dirtying affect

    [Thumb - IMAG0150.jpg]
i highlighted most edges with fortress grey

    [Thumb - IMAG0153.jpg]
then painted all the turret guns i magnetized mine so the next few pics will show the different looks

    [Thumb - IMAG0154.jpg]

    [Thumb - IMAG0156.jpg]

    [Thumb - IMAG0157.jpg]
i then put batlle damages all over the model first with boltgun metal drybrushing, followed by scorched brown drybrushing and the a touch dwarven bronze on that, ( but mainly on the engines to give a burnt look

Awesome. It must of been really hard to get such a clean line with the masking tape as its not an entirely flat surface. Im very impressed I will have to try using masking tape on somethign at some point. But i dont have a vehicle that needs painting atm

i was talking to a friend about that and they said sticky tac is a good way to fill in the places that are not flat, havent tried it but it sounds like it would work.
