It depends on the country and type of force. Soviets will take many models, Germans very few, and everyone else somewhere in the middle. If your primary concern is money, then a German Panzerkompanie can be very cheap. For mid-war, I sometimes us an army comprised of 11 Panzer IV's and 1 recovery vehicle. For the same points cost, a buddy of mine fields a Soviet tank company of some 23 tanks or so. Infantry armies will have more, but you generaly get a full platoon in a pack. American mecanized infantry will run quite a few dollars because their platoon structure is very diverse. You'll need riffle teams, bazooka teams, mg teams, halftracks, even an anti-tank gun if you use all the options. Another expensive unit (monetarily) is field artillery. You'll need ammo haulers, tow vehicles, spotters, and of course the guns themselves. All in all it will be far cheaper than a full warhammer army but still expect to pay around $10 a tank.
As a side note; one really awesome thing about Battlefront is they charge based off mass and production difficulty. A Tiger costs the same to buy as a recovery vehicle because they're the same size.
